Not like their reviews are gonna matter much; anybody that isn't buying it based on the last one will see some youtuber or streamer having fun with it. Do people actually go to reviewers for coverage of Just Cause and the like?

I gotta jump in and say that Just Cause 2 was incredibly hollow. None of the guns were worth a damn, the AI was horrible, and even the explosions and such were just good.
It baffles me how some people played the singleplayer for over 15 hours.
And it baffles me even more that people are calling it or JC3 GOTY

They're picking their battles - no one is gonna get mad at them rating Just Cause 3 low (by AAA standards), the game probably has fanboys but everyone knows it's dumb fun and no one will care.
Fallout on the other hand - the fanboys are numerous and belligerent - a low rating could get messy, don't want to lose them hits.

75 is probably the exact score I would give to JC2, so that's fine by me. Just Cause offers a huge sandbox and a bunch of tools to have fun. It's particularly compelling in any area besides the core mechanics, and even those get old after you exhaust the possibilities.
Just Cause games are a blast to play, but anyone expecting JC3 to be GOTY has probably never actually played the games.

i know people say that they wanted just caus 2:2 but with a five year wait you'd think avalnche would be much more ambitious considering how much of a hit just cause 2 was despite it's flaws.
it's a shame, just cause 3 is more than likely still a great game but considering the hype it's pretty clear avalanche played it way too safe and tried to capture the the magic from jc2 by imitating what made it good instead of improving it.
