Why is this gen so absolutely fucking awful? Some of you will probably respond with "You've gotten older" or "You're cynical" but something is seriously not right with this generation.
We're 2 years in and there are almost no good games on either console. Look at the PS2 launch lineup and there's more good games on that than we have AFTER 2 YEARS on both the PS4 and Xbone combined. Furthermore even multiplats have crashed in quality and popularity - look at Assasin's Creed, Battlefront/Battlefield, or even Call Of Duty. Would you have imagined just 2 years ago that Assassin's Creed would declined rapidly into irrelevancy?

I dunno, I think both machines have pretty good libraries at this point. Both multiplat and exclusive. Oh well, different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

It's not PS2/GC era of abundance but I get to play a few good games on them each month

None of those games were multiplatform in that timeframe with the exception of Silent Hill 2, which was exclusive in Fall 2001 anyway.
