Uh, Cloud is angsty because he has planet cancer and so do a bunch of kids apparently, and it's somehow the fault of some gay Sephiroth clones, who are looking for Jenova's head but Rufus has it. Also Rufus is good now and shoots the head at one point. Then everyone gets together and they fight the Sephiroth clones and a Bahamut-type thing for some reason, but then one of the Sephiroth clones turns into actual Sephiroth and slaps Cloud's shit, but then he sees Aeris and Zack and slaps Sephiroth's shit with RESOLVE.
Look I don't remember anything from this movie except the fight scenes and dilly-dally-shilly-shally.

Not as good as I once remember. Maybe im growing out of this shit but the ending is just corny.

They seem to have their heads on a bit straighter lately when it comes to FFVII, realizing nobody wants Advent Children Cloud and pandering towards nostalgia for the original game rather than pushing Compilation shit.
I'm still wary of the remake though. No plans to play it 'til I find out how much they've changed and what they've fucked up.

Sephiroth's cells infected the life stream and are causing geostigma, these three are remnants of his body or some shit who knows and they decide they need Genova's cells to recreate Sephiroth.
They also lead the kids into the pond either literally for no reason or it just escaped me.
Meanwhile Squall has infiltrated the FF7 world with his flawless Cloud disguise and no one notices.

So now that Cloud doesn't have a genocidal maniac to chase he's getting worn down because he doesn't really have a purpose anymore. And with the arrival of the space cancer, something he can't bludgeon to death with a giant slab of metal, he's begun to remember how it felt to watch Aeris die and now he's watching his new family die. So he closed himself off and ran away to be alone for a while.
Meanwhile 3 pedophiles have begun kidnapping kids in the hope of recreating the Reunion. Which doesn't make any sense because the Reunion was the uniting of everyone carrying Jenova's cells which, seeing as the space cancer is the result of mako being corrupted by Jenova's/ Sephiroth's essence, should have included everyone who had the space cancer not just kids. But whatever the pedophiles take the kids and used them to locate Jenova's missing head. Who they needed the kids for this isn't explained considering the pedophiles also have Jenova's cells and therefore should have been able to locate her head since Jenova's cells can talk to and attract each other. But then this entire plotline is rendered pointless because the kids were wrong and Rufus had the head this entire time.
So the pedophiles and Cloud fight it out and that whole Space Cancer thing is literally washed away by Aeris using Great Gospel from beyond the grave. And now that Cloud has an actual opponent to bludgeon to death he's snapped out of his depression and is smiling like a goofball while beating the shit out of the pedophiles. But then Sephiroth comes back for...some reason and him and Cloud fight. Cloud say he loves everything and Sephiroth says he'll never fucking go away. So Cloud uses the puddle made by Great Gospel to heal... The whole world I guess. And that's the end.
