>Earlier on today, information emerged regarding Just Cause 3’s long load times and poor frame-rate on the PlayStation 4. At the time, we didn’t know any specifics about how long the load times actually were and had some skepticism about the original source’s claims. However, Chris Harding from TheGamesCabin has released a video providing first-hand evidence of the game’s atrocious load times. Unbelievably, after dying it takes more than three, yes THREE, minutes to reload the world. During the analysis, Harding said:

For real, though, I'm pretty excited. 2016 looks like it'll be good.
So if I remember this correctly, these new consoles run on blu-Ray which has a very slow read speed which is why the mandatory installs are mandatory. So the easiest fix would be SSD but the interface in the current consoles are old sata spec and the new stuff isn't cheap enough to dump into a console.
So I'm trying to think how they could help out in this regard, maybe run a hybrid drive and dedicate the SSD portion to RAM like behavior for the game but it would have to transfer the install back and forth which would screw with the lifecycle of the drive, or they could do cloud computing offload it to a server somewhere.

I operate on a 4GB GTX 770. I have had it since 2012/2013. I am not behind any curve. I still max every game. And just because 970/980 are out doesn't mean I have to upgrade, because few games at their most demanding (4K, downsampling/ultra-high res texture packs, max draw distance, object distance, and 16xAA, etc) even warrant that hardware, and even still, those cards are only MARGINALLY better (barring a 980Ti) because all cards from the current generation are just rebrands with improved power/performance of previous cards. Ergo, 780/780Ti is closer to a GTX970, meanwhile a 970 is not "600 Euros". That means my 2-3 year-old card isn't due for an upgrade for at the minimum, the next year to year-and-a-half. And even THAT will only be necessary if I want to continue to maximize every game as they come out, as I said.

I don't watch a counter but I'm also a proponent of 60FPS whenever possible. GTA5 was remarkably optimized and I'd never had any technical difficulties with it. Dying Light is a real heavyweight but I also use the DLlauncher to disable unnecessary shit like floating garbage, birds everywhere, chromatic aberration, lens flare. It still dips frequently but I'd say never sub-40, the game is still very clean and playable at it's most strenuous. Shadow of Mordor runs fantastically, though at this point it is over a year old. Fallout 4 is dogshit, receiving similar performance to Dying Light while looking nowhere near as well as it. I feel it's pretty unanimous that FO4 is unoptimized dog shit and so, like Arkham Knight, isn't particularly suitable for benching something's performance.

The loading times are really weird. Most of the time they take like 20 seonds. But then out of nowhere you get these motherfuckers taking minutes.
FPS drops constantly in bigger bases but I'm not surprised.

I'm unironically enjoying my Wii U. I pirate all the PC multiplats and they have been horrible disappointments this year except Witcher 3, which I then bought. Failout, Phantom GamePlay and now Just Pause all fucked their shit up. I will pirate Just Cause for like 3 days for something to do while waiting for Xenoblade X.
