Dragon Age III is currently on sale on Origin, should I pick it up or is the game really that bad?

I bought it. Seems alright so far, nothing has blown me away. I enjoyed the introduction in Dragon Age Origins more.

Horrible piece of garbage even from gameplay perspective. It's pretty much a full-fledged offline mmo with combat system which was repeatedly simplified for the entire franchise, up to the point it doesn't even resemble a party-based rpg anymore but some shitty arpg with horrible controls and nonexistent build variety.

Do you even know the story in DAI? Obe of the main parts of the story is that there are fade rifts opening all over the place. So yes there are fade rifts, that is part of the reason the Inquisition was formed, to close the rifts. And you are the only one that can close them.

The game is shit though, unless you're a story fag or a waifufag you'll get bored very quickly.
Its pretty but full of nothing and incredibly tedious fighting on highest difficulty, borderline impossible early game, then a cakewalk late game. Difficulty mode done very wrong, even worse than bethesda games.

It just wasn't a very good game. It's not the worst ever, but it really was shit. I honestly liked Dragon Age 2 a little more because even though both were shitty RPG's gameplay wise at least two was slightly more ambitious with it's story.

The volume of world-building isn't what makes Tolkien's work impressive, it's the way he leveraged his understanding of ancient stories and the way stories and languages evolve into a wholly original cultural document. He took a holistic approach to fiction, writing the creation stories and epic (in the traditional sense) histories that 'would' form the basis of Kalevala-like collections of English myth if any existed (the lack of which Tolkien always lamented)
