People who would've bought in are now letting others doing the funding and putting money away to buy the game if it's good when it comes out.I think Star Citizen's also a huge part of why the crowdfunding scene is so dodgy these days.

The ideas behind a lot of the characters are pretty cool but I can't get over how bland and boring they all look. They're so flat, especially in the face, that you could confuse them for generic NPCs.

2. The developers have gone on record talking about how brave it is that they've got with a colored woman as their female lead.
3. The gameplay is kinda shitty. Specifically, one of the key joys of a Metroidvania game is the sense of movement during exploration. That's why games like Castlevania give you very strong melee attacks, and Metroid gives you very strong ranged attacks. So you can keep moving while exploring. Indivisible instead stops you dead in your fucking tracks so you can have an ATB battle. It's a poor fit.

For me is was just a red flag, but it was the technical aspect and the lack of actual experience and only the promise of content in the future that dissuaded me from putting in.
They should have crowd funded a proper demo instead of the prototype. That way it wouldn't cost them anything and they could prove there is interest, and then get a proper publisher on board without needing to crowd fund the whole game for this large amount.
They simply asked too much of people. They have no one to blame but themselves for trying to go all in like this.

The only problem with crowd funding is the lack of repercussions if they don't deliver. Otherwise the premise is solid.
There have just been too many instances of bullshit when it comes to crowd funding games, and that has burned a lot of people, and turned many others off it completely.
Unless it is a dev with a proven track record and reputation, in the actual area they want to develop for, people are rightly wary of putting in now.

I like your optimism anon. I really do. But I just don't see this game playing out the way people want with any sort of certainty. It is a huge gamble for all involved. There are just too many red flags.
They should have crowd funded a proper demo instead of going for broke. Possibly literally. It would have shown people that they can in fact deliver on what they have planned. And they could have likely found a publisher to front the money for the full game after that. Putting out the prototype was a mistake because no amount of semantics will prevent it being viewed as an actual demo. With some promises tacked on.
Instead they have banked everything on a market that potentially doesn't exist. And have done little to really give skeptics like me any faith that they would, or even can, deliver on their promises. People are right to be hesitant about back for those reasons.
Time will tell of course, and I would love to be wrong and it ends up being some sort of classic for the ages, but one need only to look at the state of gaming in general to understand why any sort of optimism on my part is just nonexistent.
