Touhou Puppet Dance Performance thread? Other 2hu games also welcome.
Just fired up this game after seeing other anons discuss it. Apparently there is a new method of setting your locale to Jap, but I didn't write it down. What is it?
Anyone interested in a single match?
Is it good to start with Sariel? How viable is she and also how powerful is she then the rest of the puppets?
I've been playing through the main 2hu games and so far I still think 7 is my favorite. Currently on 12.
11 sucked total ass by the way. As I progressed through the games, they all basically had improved gameplay over the one before, but 11 was just a straight downgrade. Those shot types were fucking garbage.

Sariel is a solid choice. She can become either a fast sweeper or a bulky attacker, depending on which style you choose, and she's a rare puppet that can only be captured late game, so if you don't choose her now you'll be waiting a while to get her.
The only downside to her is that she has the lowest possible growth rate in the game, so you'll have to use her often if you want her to keep up with everyone else.

Defense is a really nice Sp. Def. tank, but has mediocre Sp. Att. and thanks to its ability a nice set of resistances
Power is a great mixed sweeper, with great speed and attack.

Mud patches just slow down your movement speed, they don't do anything else.
You need the boat to get to Marisa's house. Just enter the forest of magic from the Kappa area, then go southwest until you see a bridge. Surf down the water, and you should see some land with a Kappa trainer waiting on it. Marisa's house is down that path.That said, there's nothing to do there but rest in her bed.

God damn Miko is a complete monster. She's soloed all the way up to Forest of Magic (no grinding the wild besides capturing 1 of each 2hu) and just keeps getting stronger.
I almost don't want to use any high-cost 2hus since the 80/90 ones keep up in level without ever being used.

Miko is really good, but watch out as she has almost no bulk, so she'll often die in one shot to things that outspeed her. Make sure to keep a bulky puppet to help absorb hits for her.And just wait until you get her alt. costume, it's 11/10

Having a first route starter isn't necessarily a bad thing, since every touhou is capturable/breedable anyway. It's more about who you like enough to want them on your profile and your puppet menu icon.

Spread vs. Focus is just like Gen IV and beyond, it's a case by case basis and every type has moves that fall under both.
Chen is surprisingly strong. Assist Chen in particular has an absurdly good typing that lets her solo half the game on her own.

The game doesn't have true legendary equivalents in this. Legendaries in pokemon have 600+ BST, only can be captured once per game, and typically have ridiculous abilities/moves/typing at well. They exist to help kids trivialize the lategame.
In this there are no touhou whatsoever with 600+ BST that don't come with detrimental abilities.

Go back down the mountain through the rock break path, eventually you'll find some houses occupied by 3 fairies. Beat them and continue through the village until you find a house with Chen. She'll give you a map that lets you Fly, and you can see places you haven't been before. Just check it out.

Go down to the rest stop on the way down to youkai mountain, and go down the right path. You should find an abandoned village, where Chen will give you a map.

Head to the Route 1 rest stop, then crush the rocks to the right of the building. Head up this new route.
