Well Square lost the original Kingdom Hearts data or something like that so that might have had something to do with it. It's also the Final Mix version of the game which was released later on. I believe FFXHD is just regular FFX but prettier. Just guessing. I have FFXHD but I haven't played it yet. I kind of just bought it to have it because I liked the games originally.

Aight I'm gonna respond to this in a different way than what you may have been expecting.
I agree, FFX has very many negative points. The cutscenes have no right being unskippable, the voice acting is atrocious, and the methods to unlock certain items are absolute bullshit. Blitzball is forced down your throat, and overall the game is just kind of too easy.
Linearity doesn't make it a bad game, though. I just makes it different from what makes Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy. I don't hate FFX or FFXIII. I love both of them for different reasons. I enjoyed them thoroughly despite their negative aspects. Both have stories that intrigued me, both had characters I loved and hated, both had good music, both made me want to play through to the end. Really, that's all you can ask for.
When compared to other Final Fantasy games, they're definitely toward the bottom of the barrel, but like Pixar movies, that doesn't say much. Cars is a low-tier Pixar movie, but it's not "bad." (Disregard Cars 2, we will never speak of that ungodly horror.)

I'd like to add: FFX had done of the more enjoyable battle systems for the sole fact that you can switch party members in on the fly. The "true-turn based" system they had let you strategize, but the downside of it came with the fact that each character could use ANY build... so you really had no reason to switch characters once you've decided who you liked, and the sphere grid made it possible to make any character so overpowered that strategy was unnecessary.
Imagine FFX axed the sphere grid and instead made characters like FFIX or FFIV, that had specializations? You'd be able to choose who was battling DURING the battle but would have to choose when the most opportune time to switch is based on what roles you need.
My favorite Final Fantasy games have always been the ones that have unique, specialized characters.
