I don't hate the name Bloodborne, but something with Beast in it could have been cool.
The real problem was how over the top the number of references to blood was. It never felt so ridiculous when it was Souls, whether there were just less of them or they just worked better.
Blood gems, blood echoes, blood rocks, blood level, blood dew, blood vial, bloodtinge, the old blood, paleblood etc
It starts to feel absurd at some point, if they found something else to call a few of them it would have helped the character of the game quite a bit.
[insert word here] Souls would have been kinda neat just for series continuity sake. But Bloodborne is a fine title.
