How else am I suppose to sort them?
I don't have every smash character yet so there's no way of organizing them by roster.
I also have many non-smash amiibos, meaning they would be left out.
It's far easier than alphabetizing them or just throwing them wherever they are placed. It looks like I actually take care of my things when they are organized.

The way I see it if you like a vidya/anime enough you'll want something that physically represents it. You could just sit the game in a shelf for display but something like a figure is more expressive of one's taste imo. I don't really see an issue unless you have 5 fucking figures of the same character.

There are exceptions for video games, but not for toys and figures, those are for manchildren. Posters and somewhat even clothing could be an exception for certain franchises. Some 50's themed Americana fallout poster or patch on your bag stands out in two ways: it has a respectable aesthetic to it and it is a popular game, and I say that as someone who doesn't give a shit about fallout.
Doing the same for mario or nintendo shit screams manchild. And anime is much worse, if you have anime posters/clothing/toys/figures, you should probably grow the fuck up. There is being a fan of something and watching/playing it, but merch means a physical display, which just shows your pathetic manchild ways to the world.
