I for one think DOA is the best fighting game because of it's speed and elegant martial arts, as opposed to Tekken, where everyone still moves like stick figures, whether it's 1995 or 2015.

It's a shame because I like the art style and some of the characters are genuinely likeable even without the fan service. The core mechanics are almost there but they need to find a way to add variety into the game. As they are now they are like Musuo-lites but without the stuff that makes those games interesting. Beating on waves of copy pasted braindead enemies isn't fun by itself no matter how many tits you throw at it. I still keep an eye on the series though as I'm hoping it'll eventually improve into something great.

Burst was fun for an hour or two. Fighting with Katsuragi in particular was satisfying because her attacks actually felt impactful. But the game quickly devolved into a repetitive slog, and while the sequels look and play better they didn't fix the extreme repetition issue.

My favorite part of Burst was probably fighting Daidoji. A fun boss fight that uses multiple characters and isn't afraid to slap your shit if you aren't careful.

I've somewhat looked down on the people who buy stuff like this. I don't know what it is about this particular game, but for some reason I want to get it.
Not for some petty reason like "sticking it to those damn Ess Jay Dubyahs". I somehow enjoy the simplicity of it. Right now, everyone in the industry is so full of pretense and acts like their product is a life-changing, mind-altering experience when in reality it's just another walking simulator or a military shooter.
In DoAX3, there is no pretense. The girls are cute and you play it most likely because you enjoy looking at pretty girls. Plus, despite a lot of skin being shown, it always remains innocent - it's just light-hearted fun. That's all there is to it.

I get what people are saying about the games being repetitive. But I very rarely buy musous (the only other non-SK one I have being Gundam Reborn etc) and from what I've played of Shinovi Versus it's decent as a mindless action game to play in short bursts. It'sfun.And the characters themselves play differently enough as well. I'm looking forward to trying out the taiko drum girl in EV.
