The main advantage of Golden Experience's punches is because the pain of it is intensified greatly due to the life instilling abilities making them somehow more "alive" and able to react to pain more.
And again, most of the people Giorno fights are either too unstable to really react to it (Since they probably are already imagining shit happening differently than it already is without being hit) or Stands who lack actual senses due to being Remote.

The range limit isn't what you think. It's not a hard wall - but Stand Users tend to be within preferred range so that Stands are at their maximum effectiveness. Any further and they become weaker. Theoretically, Stands can go as far as they want, just once they hit their range limit, they're not able to kill or hurt anything.

That's why Part 5 is my least favorite part. Araki gives the main character this ridiculous over-complicated stand that has tons of potential, and then he relegates Giorno to be background character, whose only purpose is to use his stand to heal wounds, so there's an excuse why characters don't die even if they get their limbs cut off.
