Thea's pretty dang neat, but at 16 bucks it's still overpriced.
The DLC is not necessary for Talos Principle (I still haven't gotten around to it). It's a very, very solid puzzle game with a fair amount of lame philosophical faffery, but it's pretty well written. A lot of content in the game proper, and there's a whole mass of incredibly obtuse post-game puzzles if you're into that kinda shit.

I'm looking for some "short but sweet" games that are on sale, good games that can be beat in one two to days.
I cause I don't want to be a fag I'll recommend some similar games:

Fun mining game, similar mining mechanic to Terraria, but with more focus to mining than exploration/fight. There're 3 areas each with different enemies and traps, and every area has around 3 puzzle caves, which will grant you a new ability. There're a lot of upgrades to your character, that makes the game feel interesting from beginning to end. It took me 5 hours to complete and I recommend it to people that enjoy mindless grinding.
>Antichamber - $1.99
Puzzle game with focus on mindfuckerry and distortion of gaming-concepts. It has a goat first hour and then it becomes a literal block-puzzle garbage. I never finished the game but it took me 1h to go through the best part of the game. I recommend to everyone, for this price.
>Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons - $2.24
It's literally a walking simulator but a good one. There're a few puzzles but nothing hard enough. It took me 2.5h to complete and I recommend it for the experience.

An OK plataformer but it has a great story and excellent characters. The best thing about this game is that the characters that are literally rectangles has better personality and development than 90% of AAA characters. Around 3.8 hours to complete

The first one I'd recommend if you're more in to games with smaler level, but packed with content and that requires a lot of explorations and discoveries.
The second I'd recommend if you're more into slower paced game with campaigns that take hundreds of hours with lots of walking around the map messing with stats and skills, learning the best trades and getting butt-fucked by bandits at the begging of the game.

3 playthroughs and 26 hours of Banner Saga here. Combat is shit. It's the only turn based strategy game I can think of where it's better to not instantly kill enemy units. On hard mode, it's actually suicidal to just go around killing every enemy unit
The story choices in the game, the atmosphere, and the urge to get everyone through the game alive makes it compelling despite the combat. If you enjoy games like Conquistador, or classic RPG's it's probably worth a buy. If you're looking for a stats and party based game like Xcom, Fire Emblem, etc. then it's not what you're looking for. If you buy it now you'll have a good idea whether Banner Saga 2 is worth buying in a few more months.

Just go to the worldofgothic website which has the unofficial patches for all of the gothic games.
I'd suggest starting with the 1st game. Otherwise working backwards would probably be annoying with technical aspects. Also the story would be sort of confusing.
You'll probably have start up issues for Gothic 1 (at least I did). The three things to try would be disabling Steam Community ingame, run Gothic in administrator, or the one I got to work which was disabling sound in the .ini file. This disables any cutscene sounds, not sound in the rest of the game.
I tried getting Gothic 2 to work but I never could. I've been meaning to troubleshoot it again sometime to play through it

I've heard you get a discount on the expansion if you already own the base game so it's actually cheaper to buy at the discount and then get the expansion at a discount later than it is to just buy the expanded version later.
Also, you might not actually like Elite Dangerous so it might be worth getting it while cheap. The expansion just adds some shit, it doesn't make it a whole new game.

There was a nice mod that changes your mousewheel into a weapon select, because switching to third person isn't have as crucial. It didn't work so well with the custom weapons you find, but better than nothing.

I think a lot of people had insanely unrealistic expectation for ED.
It's not the greatest game ever and it's missing a lot of shit the devs were hoping to have, e.g. planet landing (limited form coming in an expansion, full form coming later), walking around your ship and space stations and first person combat (apparently also coming in a later expansion), etc., etc., but I still think what's there is solid.
It's not a story driven game, it's not Eve Online, it's not a 4X, it's Elite and apparently a lot of people didn't want that as much as they thought they did.
Let me put it this way, there's a hell of a lot more to ED than there is to ETS2 but it really comes down to how much it just clicks with you. If you want ETS2 in space then ED is the closest there is to that at the moment and then some.

All official servers wiped every 2 weeks pretty much. There are a lot of unofficial servers although for the most part they are less populated. The server owners can choose whether to wipe or not but a server wipe is required whenever they want to add the newest update to the server, so they can keep an older version of the server or stick to the 2 week update/wipe schedule. Some servers do that although even on low pop servers regular wipes are pretty much mandatory because the game becomes extremely laggy with all the bases and shit that pile up, and the landscape and resources start to become ugly and hard to find.

I've played State of Decay, but didn't think much to it. However I got the version that isn't Year One Survival Edition and no clue of the differences between mine and that.
I've heard Zombie Army Trilogy is good, as it remasters the first 2 ZA games iirc and so you get the best versions of those and the third in one neat bundle.

I have 107 hours on Kingdoms of Amalur, and I'd say get it. Definitely get it with the DLC too.
