Some of the Connection Orb missions can be pretty hard, they're for them. If you use a level 50 Pokemon or the like, they're unavailable for use for quite some time afterwards, so use them wisely.
You can't use the high level Pokemon for the story missions
How hard is Showdown Mountain? I want to make sure I'm prepared before I go, because I had a fair bit of trouble with the last story mission.

You also get these items which can be placed with cool gems in dungeons that give abilities. They are reset every time you reenter. You can get wands and stuff I guess.
