It's really fun in small doses but I kind of regret buying it. I got bored with it pretty quick. All depends on how much you replay games or if you like sports games I guess. It really is just soccer in the same arenas (just different graphics but same shape). New mutators mix things up abit but more in a random way than anything you can effect.

Just got Fear. Had the 360 version, found out it has bad controls and worse graphics, so now I'll try the PC version since /v/ keeps telling me it's so great.

Westerado is a cool pixel western game. Published by Adult Swim Games which frankly has a flawless record.
Your sister gets kidnapped and the story is you going around trying to find out who did it and where. But it has a really unique mechanic in that you can draw your gun at any time.
So mid conversation with a random NPC you can press a button to draw your gun and their dialogue and reactions will change accordingly. Can then cock it and the conversation can change again. And then of course fire. Depending on the character they can have all kinds of different reactions. Some might run away immediately. Others call your bluff...until you cock it and then they freak out or maybe draw on you. So it's really interesting knowing when is a good time to threaten someone or not.
Can kill anyone and afaik it won't ever put you in an unwinnable state.
The first thing I tried doing in the game was sticking up the uncle who rescues you from the fire and shooting him.

I actually just requested a refund for Dark Souls. My laptop is a potato and the game doesn't have much ingame options for lowering the graphics. I tried to put it at the lowest possible resolution and even used DSFix but no dice.

Not grid based for one, level design is a lot more 3D. A lot more X axis. Building your units has more options, more customization.
And you end up caring about them a lot more than you do in X-COM. Losing a strong fighter who's been with you from the start is heart breaking.
Even worst is them getting downed, but coming back with a crippling wound, like a fractured skull that makes them stupid, or a shattered jaw that fucks their casting.
It is also unrelentingly difficult, which makes every victory very satisfying.

I disagree and that hulk hogan video aside, it is pretty fun but man Relic did bite the dust before anything could come out of it. If anything it is still active online and to be rank Gears of war is actually less fun online, if you mean the campaign is on par with Gears of war 1, well weaker since the game does not pick up until the last missions.

Napoleonic Wars is muliplayer only and filled to the brim with the most autistic cunts imaginable. With Fire and Sword is a spin-off title based on the original engine so feels dated and weird.

The trick with EYE is to realize that it's not a Deus Ex wannabe as a lot of retards claim, it's Serious Sam with magic powers. It's also probably the most customizable game I've played in a long time, you can change pretty much everything to do with enemy spawns etc.
It's a shame they never released an SDK for it, if you could get custom map packs you'd have near infinite play time.

Warband is the game. Vanilla is like a weird beta test for Warband. With Fire and Sword is a weird mod for Vanilla. It isn't fun. The Viking one is a weird mod for Warband. I haven't played it. Napoleonic Warfare is a fucking awesome multiplayer only mod for Warband that's an absolute blast if you grab some friends and fuck shit up together.

I bought it on the last sale. It's pretty much exactly what you think it is. Heavily inspired by 3d platformers like Mario 64 and the like. The robot plays like a fucking toddler which is pretty hilarious trying to grapple your way onto the terrain.

Ehhh, Age 3 isn't a bad game. It has a really nice engine but a lot of people don't like the colonial era setting, and there's a few things that are kind of iffy (like the home city system and the 'cards' that give you certain bonuses). Basically the more you play Age 3 the more powerful your civilization becomes, whereas Age 2 you're always on an equal footing.

There's a few mechanical differences, and Rise of Nations spans from the caveman era to the modern age whereas Age 2 focuses on the medieval era. RoN also has a campaign that plays like a weird grand strategy, you have a number of historical era campaigns and then a world map that you try and conquer by playing set battles.
Both are pretty good, RoN probably has a bit more depth overall although the factions are kinda samey.

I've played it but I don't have much nice to say about it. Especially if you're looking for something Torment-like. Pillars has very little choice and consequence/reactivity to the player's decisions (To the point where it looks like you'll have an impact in act 2, then suddenly the game drops the mic and walks off the stage and leaves you with your cock in your hand) and the writing and setting is dull too. Hope you like some generic-ass fantasy only it's totally unique because instead of vampires they're called phamphyerires.
Gameplay-wise it's like a streamlined (And also a bit dumbed down and with MUCH more boring encounter design) Baldur's Gate. The pure gameplay isn't entirely shit but it doesn't live up the BG games due to really dull-ass fights through 99% of it. I played through the entire goddamn game and I can remember two encounters in the entire thing that were noteworthy and took minor effort to beat. And I wasn't even max powergaming and mostly ignored the crafting shit.
So there you go anon. It's pretty bad as a story game, and it's tolerable as a real time with pause party based combat game.

GW3: Fun, but I only enjoy it for about 30 mins at a time. I'll keep playing it for sure.
Sky Rogue: SHIT SON THIS GAME IS THE BOMB. Even though it's just a very early alpha, it's basically ace combat with arcade graphics. Played it for like 4 hours already. Love it.
One More Dungeon: Worst piece of shit I've played in a long time. Only gimmick it has is "retro" and lacks any real depth. Dungeon floors are very convoluted and sloppily thrown together with RNG. All the melee weapons feel shitty and the ranged staves are the only good way to kill enemies, but use an annoying resource system. I would usually let a game like this go if I didn't like it and just have it sit in my backlog forever, but I was so disappointed I actually refunded my measly $3.50. Overall, not fun, don't buy.

Recettear is really fun and replayable. I usually hate weeb games but the gameplay was fun enough for me to get past that. You will probably fail on your first run through, giving it even more playtime.

There is not a single good thing about Breath of Death or Cthulhu Saves the World.
The levels aren't even fucking worth mentioning. Pic fucking related.
The writing is awful, pop-culture reference riddled shit.
The gameplay is Final Fantasy at its worst - a DPS race. Combo meter just there for more DPS. They do that exact same "lmao bosses and random enemies are immune to status effects for no goddamn reason".

Wictor is more actiony and a bit different from the standard ARPG loot whoring clicker. Grim Dawn is basically Titan Quest 2 with a half-assed grimbrown setting.
If you never played Titan Quest then that means Grim Dawn has some cool character building potential and good itemization but fairly dull combat.

It's fucking great and totally not obnoxious, it's actually quite subtle in a way.
I like the open, non-linear structure of it. I don't have a problem with linearity with point-n-clicks, but since they're all mostly linear it's a nice change to play a game that just drops you into an interesting world and lets you just solve puzzles and hug people as you please. Instead of getting stuck by a puzzle and having to stop playing until you either use a guide or figure it out, you just explore more.

Depends on what you're looking for but I enjoyed KOTOR 1 and 2. Keep in mind they were designed to run on the Xbox so every room is incredibly tiny, makes a little claustrophobic to be honest.
Definitely worth checking out KOTOR 2, ended up being a nice little game after the modders restored its previously cut content.

Darkest Dungeon is more of a campaign, thing. An individual run in a dungeon is relatively short, but you still don't wanna just shrug off a party wipe since you want those characters and levels to do shit later. Isaac/Nuclear throne are more self contained in their runs. There's some progression but dying isn't as big of a setback as it can be in Darkest Dungeon.
Darkest Dungeon also isn't as randomized. There's some chance in traits and dungeon layouts and loot and shit, but nothing as game changing as what items you find in Isaac. Darkest Dungeon's a really good game but it's more a game you'd play for 20-30 hours (More if you get super in to it) and beat, whereas Isaac is much more pick up and play friendly even if you have everything unlocked
