He was super butthurt that the Courier was able to cause so much change to the world completely incidentally, which he (supposedly) did twice in the Divide (creating and destroying it), and once at the Mojave
He wanted to destroy something the Courier cared about, while allowing it to prosper under a symbol that's not just a ghost of the old world

alright, can we all admit this game had bad DLC? lonesome road was just some poorly written pretentious guy full of purple prose acting like you slowly killed his entire race and literally pissed in their wounds, then ate their corpses one by one. not to mention the setting was like FO3 and as such was bland and tired.

owb was horrible SO RANDUMB teen humor crap, dead money was alright but exploring an empty casino wasn't much fun, and the entire outside sections were dreadful. honest hearts was boring as shit, only thing that made it worth playing was graham.

what happened? why was the base game so good but the DLC is almost not worth playing?

Obsidian wrote themselves into a corner with Ulysses, there was no real way they could've met all the hype surrounding him, and all the implications about how he was some big chessmaster who knew shit. Especially considering the engine limitations they had to work with.

Which is a shame, it would've been a fitting ending to NV DLC, would've been nice to have much, much more Divide to explore though, that world-design was good shit.
>>
>>318238312
The Dark Brotherhood was kind of fun.
>>
>>318234201
I wonder if they used the same trick in Oblivion (since it uses the same engine). Think about it, the horses are just animated hats that are worn by unnamed NPCs that walk on a plain just below the map. It's the same thing as the metro car. The difference, when you activate the horse, an animation of you getting it plays, but really the engine just copies your character and then the horse item has a copy of you sitting on the horse.

Maybe that's why there was no horse combat in Oblivion.

>Bad dlc

Dead money was a good "survivalist playthrough" dlc it challenged those fags who only used guns. The exploring aspect was only one part but that dlc was more about just getting the loot. I agree honest hearts was kinda weak but I appreciate how they tied in Native American shit. Old world blues was good, it paid homage to old sci fi and I like how it emphasized a energy playthrough. Lonesome road was just good in how it tied things together and was challenging. NV had the best DLC because each one was conducive to a unique playthrough and had interesting characters.

I took 3, that was the max I could get without cheating. I never sold them, I just put them up on a shelf with some Sierra Madre chips. It's not about greed, it's about remembering the lessons you learned there with tangible objects.

The idea will fade slowly, but you can always pick up one of the bars to realize the pettiness of much of humankind's existence. Before the war men fought and died for that metal. They even destroyed the world for that chunk of shiney metal. Now it sits, desired, but only worth a fraction of what it used to be worth; an interesting oddity from a world that died long ago.
