Linux is confusing and doesn't run my games.
Nothing wrong with being an idea guy
Problem is that most people have shit ideas

Hammerhead Eagle iThrust / Geoff - closed source vehicle, with no information available.
Tesla - open source vehicle, all patents freely available, and the car even runs on a GNU/Linux based OS.

if I could build a shitty car that still worked for free I'd do it.
I actually have good ideas though.
Here's one.
XCOM but in the Star Wars universe

There is nothing confusing about GNU+Linux. As for games, there are plenty of games (or as I like to call them, GNU+games) that are free as in freedom and run on GNU+Linux. Look it up.

They're not free, but you can get better performance out of some kit cars than you can get with brand name prebuilt cars for the same price.
You wouldn't buy a prebuilt computer. Why buy a prebuilt car? Or for that matter why run a prebuilt OS?

They look 10x better then a kit car and don't require mechanical skills. Putting a car together requires more skill then putting a pc together.

I'd just like to interject for a moment:
While I do agree with you that there are lot of FLOSS games out there, I do sadly have to point out that they are all technically and visually stuck in 1996.
Name me one good looking FLOSS game.
Also I am very saddened by lack of good open source game engines.
There are attempts to create open game engines that replicate functionality of older well know games (See OpenMW, OpenRA, OpenRaider), but there is no good universal game engine, that could be used for creation of multiple genres of games.
>tfw ID Tech 4 was open sourced but nobody used it to make games.
Do we get ID Tech 5 open sourced when Doom comes out?
Tradition is that ID tech x-1 gets open sourced when ID Tech x comes out, and AFAIK Doom used ID Tech 6.

>Do we get ID Tech 5 open sourced when Doom comes out?
Unlikely. Id isn't really Id anymore and any practices they had in the past when they were independent went out the window when they were bought out. Zenimax appears to be extremely against open source and Linux specifically.
The Godot engine is probably the best generic FLOSS engine right now, but most games using it will likely be closed since its BSD licensed. godotengine.org
