But when the pc version doesn't get any new content for years and then finally the parity patch comes out and they break shit more with it, after delaying it already, and then say they are gonna fix it within a couple weeks and then still haven't fixed it for months makes me not wanna play.

I remember buying it just to see how far they really did fuck it, and its just saddening. I imagine a guy in a suit from EA came into the creative department with a slideshow presentation full of pictures of Iraq and soldiers in combat and saying "your videogame does not appeal to people, we know how to appeal to people you know, you need to make the characters "cool" and "serious, like this. You need to take this seriously guys, THIS is what people want."

Writing completely ruined this game, everything revolving around that undead shit and Salads. If the whole Treejesus aspect and the dragon were non existant and the game followed the story of the player it wouldve been infinately better. As soon as you start taking Treherneas quests the game just nosedives in quality, from enemy variety, environments and the quests themselves. I had absolutely no interest in what was going on and the look of everything just got grating. Gameplaywise, for an MMO, it was sound, MMOs always have shit combat but this was palatable, problem with this is that there is fuck all to do once you hit max level aside from repeat previously cleared content and grind, the world events arent events, theyre clusterfucks that are over in seconds because there is no threat to anything.

the first one you had a free to play FPS that had the most serious potential to be THE free to play FPS game for years to come and the other you had a fresh take on the genre with unique abilities only to have the publisher tell the developers to make content that feel like free updates locked behind a paywall
then the developers changing the mechanics of the game and practically ruining the whole point of the game by turning it into a one sided borefest, the monsters went from OP to too fucking easy except the phantom monster but I never bought the game just heavily borrowed it so I wouldn't know.
