Honestly Westballz has been playing a LOT more consistently lately than he did last year. Other than losing to Ken and Chu at EVO (and to be fair they were both actually playing really well) I can't really list any particularly bad performances from him. He lost to Swedish at Big House, but he still did pretty well in loser's bracket before losing to Mango.

Whatever Leffen is, he isn't one of the Gods. He's easily top three in the world on his best days, but he's not a "God," in the same way that Ken will always be the "King of Smash."

Depends on how much they take into account Leffen's wins at FC/CEO/WTFox. Leffen has been playing pretty poorly since EVO, besides HTC where everyone else was playing shit. Taking into account only his post-EVO results, Armada, Hbox and M2K have all been outperforming him, while Mango has been generally doing pretty poorly but still had some great performances at Summit and Paragon

Dr. Penispenis got 1st at the second largest Melee tournament of all time and third at the largest this year, then got first at a regional he went to for fun, then got fifth at basically a friendlies tourney among the top players and Kage. This is all the competitive Melee he's played this year, and averages 2/3 for all tournaments attended for the year.
Check out the average for someone like mango, or literally any other top player besides Armada, and it is much lower than that.
Honestly the Smash community of streamfags can't remember what happens longer than a week ago. PP places 5th at one tournament during his medical issues shit and suddenly people think he's mango tier falling from grace when he's literally the only American playing on Armada's level this year. Not to mention this is basically exactly the lead-up to Apex 2015 where people thought PP was finished then he won. No, Smash 4 is just bad. It's defensive, meta revolves entirely on shielding attacks, combos require basically no skill whatsoever to pull off, ledge mechanics make matches drag on forever, two stocks because the game is so slow, online is laggy and options are slim, single player is shit, Smash Tour is bad, challenges are grindy, and recovery is way too strong. It's just a worse game than the previous two.
Say what you will about Brawl, but that game had a shitload of things to do outside of competitive.
