X-01 is just a meme for people who played the original games to show off their tenure. It's actually pretty shit looking, and its terrible in FO4, by the time I got it at lvl 26 my set was waaaaay better already.

I've not played Fallout 1 and 2 but to my understanding X-01 is supposed to be on the same level of like T-45 and T-51 armor isn't it? Why is it so much stronger than those armors in F4?

Enclave Armour was always stronger than Brotherhood, which was used in 2 to depict both the Enclave's rise to power and the Brotherhood's decline.
From what I understand, the X-01 is based off of the advanced enclave power armour design, so there's also that.

X-01 is the Advanced Power Armor from 2, it's better than the others because it uses much more polished and advanced technology as its development countinued for 100 years after the war so obviously is better than pre war junk
