Skyward Sword's gameplay was directed by Aonuma.
Fujibayashi may have been the idea guy, but the team still had to go through him to approve stuff (like being able to pick up and sack bombs).
We almost had no overworld AGAIN, because Aonuma wanted to rip-off Tingle's RPG somehow and have Link jump off Skyloft to where he needed to go. The only reason we even got a skyworld is because 1 guy, ONE MAN, made it in his free-time because he didn't think it was right that a Zelda game didn't have an overworld. He probably didn't even get paid for it.
That guy is a hero.
