I think it had its moments, but there was a LOT of tedious stuff (Sewers and backtracking to a lot of previous places, some of the Monoman rooms were tedious or way too frequent as a way to pad out the game, ammo drops were badly done, skills that should have been control options, easy bosses, lack of things to do once you beat the game, some weird story crap).
I didn't like it as much as I did Danganronpa 1 and 2, but I thought it was fine for what it was and gave a nice look at the outside world and what the hell is going on. Hell, I would not mind seeing a sequel where they fix a lot of the issues the first one had.

Mikan's motivation was not "MUH DESPAIR". Her motivation was to follow through with the plan that all the Ultimate Despairs had agreed to by jumping into the simulation. She didn't want to cause despair, she wanted Junko Enoshima to be resurrected in their bodies.
