You can't get past Hangar 18, it's your typical endgame sawtooth. Once you're in, you're not getting out. Unlike most areas of the game, it's impossible to break these walls (they even drop a hint and tell you that the steel is much too strong). If you don't have all the plot essential items before entering, you better hope you have an older save lying around.

I don't think it's like "Miles" Better but they definitely carry an extra layer. Galneryus is definitely one of my favorite japanese power metal bands, although their engrish lyrics are sometimes silly, the music alone is enough to forgive them.
That classical-like solo in angel of salvation is bananas, the fact that they threw violins in makes it stupidly good. To add on the power metal in japan, I think it's also because they have a keyboardist with them most of the time. You can throw in a lot of stuff that magically clicks perfectly with metal.
I feel like metal is very flexible, just because people close their mind that it's all "inarticulate yelling and hard drum bangs" doesn't mean everyone has to the general idea.

Slayer's last truly worthwhile album came out in 1990, though they still have their moments. They should disband now, though, or at least make their next album their final one.
Megadeth is most people's gateway into "thrash beyond Metallica", and probably most people's gateway into "metal beyond Metallica, Priest, and Maiden"
Anthrax don't get enough credit. Spreading the Disease is an underrated album that's almost on par with Among the Living.

You know very well Metallica turned to shit after Burton died. Justice is the last piece of left-over material by Burton, he was a music virtuoso, he wrote shit all day every day. When the band finally was down to Hetfield and Ulrich, they went to shit.
Hetfield was always carried by someone else. First it was Mustaine showing him some amazing riffs and how to play something similar to that, then it was Burton checking whatever piece of shit he wrote, and them making it 100x better.

Every fucking piece of metal has to be an extreme skew on the genre in some way these days.
Its like if I ask for bands like Black Sabbath or Candlemass or something all I get is fucking stoner doom metal shit. It's like a parody of Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath or something. Just super duper drawn out stretched out chords. It's boring overly fuzz-boxed shit.
I want more metal that goes back to the early raw influences. Where the only thing that mattered was how good the riff was, and how much the drums could make your head bang with a groove or with a hard driving beat. Where singers weren't a bunch of edgy growly faggots and could actually sing. Where you didn't have to be a guitar virtuoso to play a fucking solo.
Another thing I really hate is the production on most modern metal records, I dont know how to pinpoint it because im not a huge expert, but I really hate how most guitars and drums sound on records. It's like its trying WAY too hard to be ~METAL!!!~. Good metal composition makes you more metal, not how powerful your equipment is.
