Healing is shit but the game is piss easy and the appeal is the characters. I can't recommend the first enough just so you can appreciate them so much more than if you started with Mk2 or Re;Birth1. They don't have the sheer amount of sub events the original game did, the characters are so much less fleshed out in the newer titles because of this.

RB1 felt more like V's goddesses in HDN's setting, and if you've played all of these games, you'd damn well know that's a far cry from what they were supposed to be. They don't have overly complicate mechanics that you need to plan out, but enough interactivity to keep you interested.

On PC you have to mod in camera in character model viewer, while on Vita you just use touch screen.
Also on PC Rebirth2 has bugged battle music volume.
Personally if I had Vita I would take it on Vita.

If you're not going to play on PS3, then I suggest going with Re;Birth3 first. It's the most fun out of all the remakes/ports. As for platform, pick whichever you can run. PC will end up looking better, but only if you have the specs for it.
