if you're being serious, I'd recommend you'd just get Re;Birth 1 and try it out first. I remember getting it thinking I would like it and I ended up not enjoying it much. The gameplay is pretty hit-or-miss. My best friend loved it and I thought it was repetitive and stale after a few hours.

I like it. The netcode is good, the whole campaign is co-op and a survival mode and daily colosseum mode. Just so it's not really like Gauntlet Dark Legacy, it's more like the original Gauntlet where you just kill everything.

Shogun 2 + FotS are great if you don't mind that the factions all have very similar unit rosters because the game is set in grorious nippon and not across Europe like the other games. Still the best modern (Empire and onwards) Total War game though imo.

There's no beating Elite Dangerous (Unless you count getting all elite ratings beating it, which I guess works but is dumb) so you technically can play it periodically. After you get over the initial hump of getting a few million credits in the bank and a decent ship the grind kicks into overdrive, though. While there's progression in ships and ship components/upgrades, there's almost no progression in missions. If you're concerned with doing the most efficient things to get the most money the fastest you'll reach end-tier on that really fucking fast and all progress beyond that is just for dinking around with ships and doing your same money generating process slightly more efficiently.
If you aren't a player like that there's fun to be had. The graphics and sound are excellent and the feel of the combat is top notch. Just don't go in to it expecting the greatest space game ever made.
Also worth noting that you won't get the planetary shit they're adding in the upcoming expansion, which is gonna be $60 and include the base game. However, blowing $15 on the base Elite Dangerous isn't bad at all since you can have a real good time casually playing it here and there.
Found some cheap ass neat looking puzzle games.
Also, check out the Hexcells bundle if you enjoy these types of games. I've put over 40 hours into the 3 Hexcells games, and it's only $2.

I wouldn't blame you for being unable to deal with TW1's godawful pacing and shit tier combat and dropping it. I'd argue that it's worth seeing through, though. It gets really good a few acts in.
TW2's combat is also very flawed and it arguably has a worse story. But it's more than worth playing for the good bits.
