The base concept of settling disputes with a magical, non-lethal method in Undertale is taken straight out of Touhou and it's setting, but for Undertale it makes zero sense as the human can still easily die even during random encounters.

First half is wrong, the only thing that makes Frisk special is that he has the player's determination to win behind him, which is something real humans can have, since, you know, you are the player.
The latter half is true though, the only reason Frisk was able to beat Omega Flowey andAsriel Dreemurris because they wanted to be with Frisk more than flat out destroy him for good.
Though, considering humans can nuke them selves, I don't know if the whole "entire species is doomed" thing holds water.

Yeah, but now those monsters are out in the world and you've got some that are like the volcano dude who spews lava on you in an attempt to "clean" you. Yes, after being assaulted by this guy, you can talk him into leaving you alone, but then he'll just be back in 5 minutes to try and cover you in lava again. The only way to stop him from coming back is to murder him. If you don't murder him, he will eventually kill you.
Explain again how isolating the monsters is a bad thing. The monsters get to live, and the humans don't have to fear for their lives. Everyone is better off with the monsters staying in the mountain.

Undertale spawns interesting discussions but I think everyone looks over the fact that the protag is a tiny little child with no significant combat skills to hand.
Even with this in mind, if they choose to be bad/mess around and attack/feel hateful towards monsters they end up killing them with no difficulty at all, and there were only two monsters (Undyne/Sans) able to even lift a finger in response and survive more than one hit and that was only undyne in reality since sans abuses game rules ( but can bend time anyway so????).
Imagine a trained soldier with modern military weaponry going down there, without the innocence or frailty of a child and having weathered the horrors of war there wouldn't even be any REMOTE fight put up by the monsters when it comes to it since the whole "intent to kill" thing lets a child destroy them with their bare hands or something as simple as a ballet slipper with pretty much 0 effort.

Well flowey mentions that he can't load his save anymore because you came into the monsters world, so I'm assuming that if your resetting/loading time would affect someone more determined it just...doesn't happen? That's what the game seem to imply to me, could be wrong though but I'm sure flowey pretty much states whoever has the most determination can load their save.
Also if you think about when you load the game after flowey absorbs the six souls, at that point with the combined determination of 6 souls he can in fact wipe out your entire save point and rewrite the world to his whims.
....until the souls betray him and start doing their own thing with their own determination and you can "win" the encounter
good point though, DETERMINATION and how it applies to other humans with save stating is a bit sketchy

There are basically 3 endings.
>True Pacifistic, ie killing nobody
>Neutral, killing some people
>Genocide, killing everyone
The progression for most people goes neutral>pacifist>genocide
Undyne will be mad, even if you spare her so its up to you really. So just beat the game and replay it, it goes a lot quicker the second time around.
The game even tells you at the end of the neutral ending to reset and play through the game without killing anyone.
In True Neutral you can become buddies with Undyne, and theres a lot of new shit as well.
Genocide is a bad time.

It's alright if all you want is spectacle, it has a lot of "in the moment" hype moments near the end, but the plot is really weirdly paced with very little of importance happening for the first big chunk. Then it gets better. Then when things start getting really real the plot gets kinda bad. And when you try to think harder about the plot, it just gets worse.
Still a great game though, the story is just pretty much the weakest PMD story, at least to me.

This always bothered me in media, if you can cry for a fictional dog like Old Yeller, then why can't you cry for a video game character? I'm not saying they're written anywhere near as good, but if you cry to any fictional character's death it would just show how well written they are. I don't get why it would be different for a video game character.
