Which faction did you choose and why?
>Railroad
Because their reasons are the most selfless and they are the most overwhelmed
>>317758871
>Railroad
what
they are the whole fucking reason people think Institute is a problem
They gather as much information on missing people as they can and make runaway synths into that missing person
Minutemen is best for the Commonwealth
Brotherhood is literally SPESS MUHREEENS
I'm confused the whole purpose of the railroad is helping synths but since I'm assuming if you don't pick the institute it all ends the same and they get wiped out, what are they going to do when there are no more synths to help?
>>317760580
probably disband, splinter off into other groups, stuff like that
they're not trying to make be a permanent organization or governing body like the other factions
Railroad has literally nothing to contribute to the common good, so I can't really see a reason to choose them. At least BoS cleans out lots of threats from the Commonwealth while digging up technology, Institute is going to make big waves once they come up with their technology and Minutemen at least improve general security of the area even if they don't have anything that special tech- or skillwise.
Would someone explain why we blow up the institute when you side with the minutemen instead of just trying to convince everyone they are wrong or kill everyone inside and utilize their tech for the betterment of the commonwealth.
Brotherhood is literally the only option.
>>317760194
Does the railroad do that? I know the institute replace that one farmer in the sewage plant and the mayor of diamond city so I just assumed they did the others as well.
Institute because they are absurdly overpowered in terms of technology, and in theory your character can make them stop doing retarded shit.
>>317758871
>There reasons are selfless
And stupid. The Railroad is insane.
>>317761269
I doubt the Institute would give a country bumpkin milita their super tech.
>>317761269
That's another thing that triggered me about this game. If i'm the general of the minutemen, why does it feel like Preston is making all the decisions? Like what do you do in that game that makes you FEEL in charge of them. I mean shit, i was more in charge of the brotherhood of steel in a sense.
>no Enclave
fug
Anyone else feel really bad for the non-feral ghouls?
For some reason Arlen and Hancock make me legitimately sad, maybe it's their voices.
>>317761695
>What do you do in that game that makes you feel in charge of them.
You literally build the Minutemen's bases and claim territory for your cause. Preston is just a mouthpiece people talk to so they can get your attention.
>>317761349
This.
Brotherhood of Steel is the only faction with the drive, and the resources to help the common folks of the Commonwealth.
Their sole downside is their willingness to kill synths who have escaped the institutes bullshit, but you can make them see their error, much like how there is a difference between feral ghouls and regular ghouls.
The Railroad is full of a bunch of morons who don't consider the consequences of their actions, and don't screen the synths they 'free' to see if they should be freed or not. Good intentions but fail at execution.
The Minutemen mean well but besides their artillery, are generally too weak, military-wise, in order to assure security from the likes of institute synths or super mutants.
I don't think I have to say anything about the Institute. They are so disconnected from reality they've turned into a saturday morning cartoon villain while still believing they are the 'good guys'. Utterly blind.
Ad victorium!

That's something I really dislike about FO4, you're unable to really mold what the factions do. In theory, you're able to unfuck these things, but you have no option to do so.
>Railroad
You are their bitch, you fetch things for Desdemona.
>BoS
You are their bitch, you perform menial tasks for the man.
>Minutemen
Endless fetch quests even though you are their leader. Preston says thanks everytime and gives you more work.
>Institute
People know how to respect youwhen you fetch things for them :^)
>>317758871

>Implying faction matters
>Implying they are not all bunch of extremists
There is not a single faction worth picking or supporting. They are so one-dimensional and extreme in their agenda it's fucking pointless.
Where are the times where you could in the same time backstab Vault City, strike a deal with Gecko AND still get a happy ending without turning any of the places into shitholes.

>Minutemen

>BoS

>Institute

When I "join" a faction, am I tied to their ending?
So I just got the rundown from Shaun and I had already joined the Minutemen, the Brotherhood, and the Railroad. Is there a point in the main quest where they say "join a side nigger"
>>317762491
They nuked the Institutes underground facility.
And it had a very small yield for a nuclear reactor explosion. Literally no one lived in the ruins above the facility, no one was hurt except the Institute. Get fucked.

>>317763212
>Is there a point in the main quest where they say "join a side nigger"
Yes.

>>317763424
Diamond City was outside the blast radius, and received neither nuclear fallout nor any sort of destruction.
The worst they experienced was maybe a light earthquake, in exchange for no longer having to fear the Institute and their synths abducting friends and family and replacing them with fake versions.
>>317761793

I feel like I should have been able to make my own faction this game. Between the settlements and the Minutemen, there's a lot of potential to make your own group with people you recruit. It would have made the battle for the Institute all that much greater if it was settlers, companions, and wastelanders you had recruited.
Oh well, I'll wait for a mod.
>Two super powers and two groups of stupid niggers

Minutemen because that's the only non-zealot way of keeping Danse with me.

Maxson is a direct descendant of the founder of the BoS. It's probably how he made rank so fast. They do say he's a brilliant tactition too.
You can find Arthur as a kid in FO3, so he's gotta be in his early 20's at most here.
>>317765098
People suck Nick's synth dick every time he's mentioned.
>>317765272
Perhaps the previous Maxon died and although the brotherhood appear to be mainly military based on the surface, complete control of the BoS belongs to the Maxon bloodline
Best combination would be Brotherhood + Minutemen.
Wipe out the Railroad and Institute, because making a bunch of self replicating robots is a terrible idea. The Railroad is filled with nuts who want to save Gen 1/2's for some reason, despite them being turrets with feet. The institute will never stop their research, and eventually they're going to be unable to control their synths when they become so intelligent they can easily bypass whatever failsafes are put into them.
Brotherhood generally keep peace, but in the end are going to take most of their army out of the commonwealth and will move onto other places. The people left over will just be to guard their outposts and preserve technology.
Minutemen will be there to take care of the common folk, form an alliance with BoS, that sort of thing.
I don't know if that sort of ending is even possible, because I have yet to beat the game, but it seems like the best to me.

The robot ship and robot amusement park were really cool too. Also that mine with the sacrifice cult. State house with mirelurk queen was tense. Forged headquarters. Gunners town where the three officers are. Saving that scientist from mutant tower. That lab where you get locked in and have to research a legendary power armor torso. Obviously all of the hub quests. Yeah lots of stuff is generic but when you're running around exploring you don't feel the world is empty. I bet you missed a lot of quests and not just raider camps.
>>317765526
Very much agree with you.
The Witchcraft Museum quest is so far my favorite, one of the few with any remote creativity, and of course it had to be one of the shortest in the game.
The quest on the Constitution ship was pretty good, although I was insanely irritated with having to run through that ship with two loading screens every fucking time, and they have you go in an out a shit load.
Vault 81 overall was pretty interesting, Curie is my favorite character because Im lonely and I like her attitude.
Going into the Glowing Sea for the first time decked in power armor was interesting but...Then I learned there isnt anything out there except that one place with my quest.
Im at about 30 hours and I just don't see there being much else. Most of the time you're doing exactly what you said - killing ghouls in a building or killing raiders in a building. Or tediously fighter either of them or super mutes because they are blocking my path to my next quest. Theres no creativity here. And I dont remember FO3 very well but New Vegas wasn't like that, they did a real good job of giving you creative shit to do, and you killed people on the side. Quests in FO4 are just about killing people. The Witchcraft quest was so good because it wasnt about you just killing 30 dudes to get some useless loot or a quest item for some asshole.

No, the BoS weren't against mutants, especially after Fallout 1. They were tech raiders if anything.
In 4 they do the EXACT OPPOSITE of raiding tech, they fucking nuke it.
I think that Minutemen get underwritten, because of the whole "help the commonwealth".
If you look at the Minutemen (MM) through the lens of the NCR, you are essentially playing with the NCR of the Fallout 2 Universe as they attempt to gather territory, hence sworn allegiances to the Minutemen, and "create a safer Commonwealth".
tl;dr-
Minutemen are the fledgling NCR from Fallout 2.

it doesn't annihilate sanctuary, it barely damages it more than a minor tornado. 200 of weathering would fuck up those houses more than they are ingame anyway
underground blasts at sufficient depth are relative safe as the soil and rock absorbs the blast, especially with a presumably hardened facility like the institute. You can't apply real world nuclear science or strategy to fallout though, it has never tried to be realistic on that front.

>I've yet to find a flaw with the Railroad; save synths that have free will, don't care about synths that don't
What? You're openly told at the start of their quests that the place is divided because half of them want to save Gen 1's/2's and even refuse to go on missions that involve killing Gen 1's/2's.
I can see a civil war in their near future over saving what are essentially turrets.
>>317770258
I highly doubt the brotherhood is going to actually destroy the sinthys, they may talk about killing the synthis to calm the minds of mud eaters (that means you the player), but the brotherhood we all know and love would never pass the chance of getting their own synth army, you know for the good of humanity and shit.
>>317770589
Like fucking honestly
I still don't even get why the BOS hate the Railroad. It seems like Beth needed to shoehorn a reason that you couldn't make two sides work together.
Someone explain to me in detail why the Railroad is stupid because I feel extremely guilty for killing them on Christmas
>I didn't get to do the Courier companion mission because the Brotherhood was constantly attacking him
Worst character?
>>317770329
I find it questionable how the delete their memories and write a new personality for them.
There's one synth that you help escape when doing their missions, and when you meet him after the wipe again he's got a completely different personality. I don't see how that's different then killing them.
Also sometimes they fuck up the rewrite and turn the synths into psychopaths like the raider boss the institute sends you after.

>vault dweller sees him murdered

Seriously what the fuck was the point? By the time you have that last talk with Father, the institute is on it's last legs with everyone evacuating. Why didn't they just round up the scientists and kill all the synths and everyone who opposed and take control of all the tech the institute had. Why nuke everything? Fuck you Todd.
>>317770820
They literally nuked the institute. With all the synths in production, all the knowledge, everything. The brotherhood is just as retarded as all the other factions.

>>317770820
Maxston wanted to executeDanseas soon as possible despite that he was the most loyal person he had and would have done everything for the brotherhood despite being a synth. That and they nuked everything. They were retards.
>>317770901
>Also sometimes they fuck up the rewrite and turn the synths into psychopaths like the raider boss the institute sends you after.
This is true, but don't you think it would me ethically wrong for them to re-write the personalities to be "perfect"? Just like some humans end up sociopathic, its only natural that some free-will synths would end up so.
>>317771050

And Maxson even says that there are still stray Synths around. Well maybe if you didn't nuke the fucking place after clearing it out, MAYBE you could've tracked them down first THEN liquidate the place. It's not like they couldn't, the Institute had the means to track down every Synth.

I also wonder just what makes synths different from normal robots, or if there really is a difference. Captain Ironsides for example shows a considerable amount of free will, and sentry bots don't exactly seem to be programmed with a personality.

They're probably early on in the ghoulification process.
What exactly happens to people who turn into ghouls is never gone into much detail after all.
>>317771713
Not really because they kinda complained about Virgil.
I'm going with the Minutemen because I think that there's cool ghouls, supermutants, and synths that don't deserve to die. I also think of robots like Codsworth as more than just robots, and want them to be treated nicely, but the Railroad is full of clowns. The Minutemen seem like they'd give everybody a fair shot.
Reminder that minutemen would have gotten rektd by fucking RAIDERS if some guy fresh out the vault either walked around concord or just took the power armor and fucked off.

Synths make no sense.
You see people like Ironsides, or the Mr. Handy's walk around making decisions with no one around to tell them what to do. They can carry on full conversations, answer questions, ask questions, have emotions (Codsworth cries if you take him to Nora's body) and all this other shit. HELL, THERE IS A FUCKING MS HANDY THAT FALLS IN LOVE WITH A GUY.
Maybe Synth's have more free will or options or something, but still. I don't see the railroad fighting for the rights of Mr. Handies. It's just a bunch of former synths fighting for synths. You're not a synth, they're using you. Ironically, the human has become the tool if you side with the railroad.

Curie seemed to have developed her personality from just a pre-programmed template into something close to true sentience over centuries of constant operation. Could be that without a 'factory reset' sort of wipe robots with advanced enough processors develop quirks that accumulate into a sort of individuality. I want to say that the pre-war logs in the old Railroad base mention something similar happening to Pam too. It's possible that only a couple models of robots have the capacity needed to end up as more free-thinking units, none of the protectrons on Ironsides' crew show any personality for example.
Does Kleo ever talk about her past?

>>317774490
Nope, synth are SUPER BAD because they arent stable paragon of virtue (which isnt so different from humans). And they all come from an organization who operate in the dark and treat the commonwealth like lab rats.
BoS was my choice after considering a lot of factors. The game is written decently enough to actually make you think about factions which really is a first for me in Fallout.
BoS has the largest most capable military force, which is an essential element to bringing back a more centralized institution system. Since they are the remnants of the government, with the right guidance I see them as the best candidate for restoring order on a large scale in the wasteland. It's easy to label them as a group of assholes and selfish tech hoarders but I think that in the end they're the safest card to play with the hope of restoring the Commonwealth. As the MC you have the option to steer the brotherhood your way. For example, I don't agree with the blind hatred for synths. I was able to speech check my way into a more tolerant attitude and steer the faction towards my ideology.
Assessing the other factions, there doesn't seem to be a good alternative to the BoS.
The minutemen are really a common militia that does not see the larger picture. If you let this faction exist for the next 1000 years they would still be living in the same shacks and growing irradiated corn.
>>317775146
The Institute has isolated itself and continues being a closed minded selfish academic utopia that has reached dangerous heights. I really enjoy the fact that the AI question was brought into the game. I do believe that AI tech needs to be controlled while being allowed to exist. There is no stopping scientific progress but when it reaches a point to which it can destroy humanity (rogue AI etc) then it needs to be put on a leash and watched. The Brotherhood is right in this aspect but is applying a way too rushed trigger happy approach of destroying the institute instead of reaching a diplomatic agreement so that the factions can exist peacefully and continue essential research.
I think that the best option for the Commonwealth is a unified government with the BoS being the prime candidate. If the Commonwealth was left in its current state all it would ever be is a bunch of settlements that exist to only serve their best interests. The areas between these settlements are lawless hellholes. Only a centralized force can fix an issue of this scale.
WeW, I sure wrote a lot for a gayme. I appreciate the thought that went into the gayme though.
>>>317775146

Even if its only like a higher damage value and better crit chance.

Was the game's ending suppose to be underwhelming as fuck? I stormed the institute and didn't even see father, and then I see my "son" asking to come with me, and i'm like what? Where was the final confrontation like was expecting? Father didn't show up at all in the last mission. I'm disappointed as fuck

Todd did a survey of which political views most murica youths hold and make a faction for each of them.
Yes, they are less retarded Enclave in BoS armors.
>>317775572
You must have fucked up. 'Father' aka Real Shaun is supposed to be a major player in this shit. You can even join his faction for an ending. The little Shaun doesn't show up until afterwards.
You didn't miss much, though. Retarded rhetoric and a shotgun shell in his skull while he lays in bed crying about 'muh illness'.
>>317775661
God fucking damn it. That's what I get for going with the railroad
>>317775572
Yeah really underwhelming honestly. Seemed like there was very little buildup, then all of the sudden you've nuked boston. AS far as finding Father in the last mission...He is bedridden in his room during the assault. He gives you the whole "pulled the wool over my eyes, im disappointed" speech and talking to him can actually result in a lot of the mook synths getting turned off.
The BoS are assholes.
The Railroad are nutjobs.
The Minutemen are bland as fuck.
The Institute are humanity's only hope for a better future.

Logically if you could get the Institute to share their advanced breakthroughs with the surface and the minute men you could start getting civilization up and going again.

Well, ideally they can be reformed under the right guidance to be more tolerant (an option made possible through speech checks). I still see them as the safest bet for the Commonwealth due to their massive scale of intellectual and technological assets.
>>317775404
I agree. The minutemen are great local forces. The Brotherhood would make an appropriate higher level of government. It's probably the best faction combo imo.

I chose the Institute because the outward appearance of sentience does not connote sentience proper, and synths are only what are sometimes called "philosophical zombies" and don't deserve to be treated as human beings.

BoS
because they're the best hope for humanity.
inb4 NCR kikes who dont know what vault 15's experiment was.
The Railroad is interesting hidden behind disney characters.
The Brotherhood is interesting.
The Minutemen are literally half a dozen people with radiant fetch quests.
The Institute is too bond villain evil to be interesting. Killing diplomats? Razing a city? Creating sentient cyborgs to do your laundry and enslaving them? Replacing people as 'experiments'?
So your two options because of how poorly the game is written is free the gen 3 synths and nuke to institute or purge them and nuke the institute. And really which one you choose should be dictated by which factions theme/quests you like more.

This is literally the same thing as being human. Large parts of how society functions is based upon this, and pretty much all of criminology and behavioral science.
Gen 3 synths are functionally human even if they aren't technically the same species.

>"secure food shipments by any means necessary"
The moment I saw that, I had flash backs to mister house describing them as a terrorist organization, and president Eden calling them common criminals with access to antiquated technology. Their only real purpose in being there is to kill mutants, blow up the institute, loot the place and get some of the tech for themselves (they still have no interest in tech without applications in combat, so there goes the shot at an FEV cure, synths helping wastelanders, or their genetically engineered super crops ever being used). They can try and beef that up with grand ideological ideas, but the execution is what really matters.
>>317775547
They deviate in that the enclave wanted to develop new tech and was largely a secretive isolationist group similar to the institute, or the Mojave brotherhood. They also want to rebuild pre-war america as opposed to the brotherhood which is focused ideologically on making sure nothing dangerous ever happens again; they're gun control for the wasteland. The only thing both groups have in common is power armor and a hatred of mutants.

It can take several tries to save Kent. Reload. Go up to the two guys but don't fire and stop moving as soon as they start talking. If you keep moving up they kill Kent and open fire.
If you keep speaking as the Silver Shroud there is a dialog option at the end that convinces almost everyone that you really are the Silver Shroud. As soon as you take this option, enter VATS and kill the guy with a gun on Kent. It takes a few tries because he sometimes manages to kill Kent even before you can get the first VATS shot off. Using the Silver Shroud dialog (I think it might have been a speech check), the other three won't even engage you.
Even if you can't pass the speech check, 9 times out of 10 the second guy standing with Kent won't care about Kent, so you can VATS the guy with the gun on Kent, then kill the other guy (plus the two cronies that never care about Kent) safely.

I was confused as to the point of your post or its relevance to the post quoted anon, not it's content.
So the Institute lets you teleport synths onto your position anywhere.
The BoS lets you call a vertibird to give you a ride and gives you a free set of rather high tier power armor for free.
The minutemen give you flares to call for reinforcements and flares to call artillery strikes.
What boon does the railroad offer?

The Brotherhood in Fallout 4 are acting exactly like the Enclave from Fallout 2

To make matters worse the way they handle Blind Betray is way more in line with Enclave logic
Brotherhood would not want to kill a Gen 3 Synth that's in arms reach, they would want to stuff it in a lab and experiment on it.

They had a thing against Super Mutants but they were not this level of cleanse the world and take there shit till 4.

If you use console commands to teleport him to you, otherwise he fucks off never to be seen again.
>>317784858
east and west brotherhood. Why do lore fag only ever quote the lore that reaffirmes their personal agenda instead of the whole fucking story
>>317784543
The current Elder Maxson was a child under the tutelage of Elder Lyons who, prior to the events of Fallout 3, had declared an ideology centered around purging the DC Wasteland after seeing the horrors of the Pitt.
During this time those who remained true to the Codeces of the Brotherhood became the Outcasts, but their schism ended after the events of Fallout 3, when the Brotherhood proper began repurposing the leftovers of the Enclave technology.
Despite what faggots who have never actually played Fallout 3 will tell you, the Brotherhood schism was actually the only well-written thing in that game and the Brotherhood in 4 is a logical result of that.
>>317782734
>>317784916
I was mired by the irony that he had huge issues with Synths being stolen for other peoples uses when that was his exact origin story.

Are you Talking Tactics or Fallout 3?
Tactics Brotherhood had no issues with Ghouls and Mutants in their ranks as long as it further the cause of finding and locking away tech.
Fallout 3 just had issues with the Super mutant army and wanted to play heroes and protect the civilians(including ghouls) by distributing tech
Fallout 4 they all things non human must be purged and want to keep all the tech to use it on said people and things.
They are one president away from being the Enclave
>>317785189
>implying they did
Independent Vegas or Anarchy is the canon ending, if only because setting one specific chain of events as canon fucks with potential future stories
>>317766091
The BOS and the minutemen don't attack each other in either of there endings, in fact they say they are proud of you.
>>317785359
Hell in Fallout 5, I wouldn't be surprised if BoS started killing humans that just so much has a visable growth/tumor on their body.
>>317785359
Tactics Brotherhood is barely even canon and incredibly stupid considering that discovery of the FEV Vats was what CAUSED the BoS to be formed in the first place
>>317784543
If I had to guess, Maxson (who can be seen in Fo3 as a child) grew up and got to experience the wasteland for himself. Assuming he had to purge every super mutant and ghoul in DC to pacify it, he probably realized that at some point it's hopeless to assume that regular people can do things on their own.
Megaton is built around a fucking nuclear bomb, Tenpenny Tower was rich but too lazy to finally fix it's ghoul problem, Canterbury Commons has no defenses (in most of my playthroughs all the adults there get killed by wandering deathclaws and radscorpions), and Rivet City is actively killing it's own residents via rust inhalation. All the Vaults in the area failed for one reason or another including Vault 101. Everyone that had access to prewar tech did bad things with it, including their own (Ashur) repurposed a steel mill/foundry in the Pitt for his own gain. Given how the BoS fix the Prydwen (which was crashed northwest of the Pitt) up, that means Maxon had to reconquer the Pitt for the BoS.
Meanwhile, the remains of the Enclave (all the human soldiers, and Autumn if you pass a speech check) become a part of the east coast BoS so their ideology proliferated. Lyons himself was an old fuck, and an outcast inside the proper BoS. So much so that the orthodox BoS (the people in Fort Independence) openly defy him in Fo3. Given how he, and all his scribes, eventually died to old age their replacements were probably far more fascist driven than them.
In the end, there was really no other way for the BoS to go. It's nice that Bethesda at least realized this.
>>317785514
Just saying what ever that anons issue was with east and west doesn't ignore how much BoS is the Enclave now
>>317785359
im talking about how the east brotherhood was just an outfit that was sent out west to form a base and then all the shit that happened to where they changed their objectives to start helping the people of the wastes and protecting them from mutants and ghouls. This happened because out west is a fairy tail compared to the harsh realities or the east.
Stating the brotherhood hasnt been the brotherhood for a long time is just pure ignorance. Everything about the brotherhood happened for a reason.
The fucking BOS in the west even sent people to clear out the east BOS but they failed
>>317785504
>being this retarded
The Brotherhood have no issue with Ghouls, aside from typical Wasteland racism.
Their hate for Supermuties and Synths is entirely justified, and they still don't have any problem with Nick other than typical racism - you can even convince Maxson to let Danse leave.
If you actually think WCBoS = Enclave, you never actually played Fallout 2 or 3
>>317767715
Thats why I sided with them. In the first fallout games you help establish the NCR and In new Vegas you see what it has become.
So I sort of felt like I was founding a new nation state with the minutemen.
>>317785634
>Megaton is built around a fucking nuclear bomb
that shit was so fucking dumb
the more I think about it the more annoyed at todd I get
>>317785313
>hear rumors about Underground Synth Railroad
>go out past Swan's Pond to join up
>tour guide tells me to "look for the red path"
>thinking it's all cryptic, I literally just follow a line of red bricks two blocks to their secret club
I thoroughly enjoy this game's stupid moments
>>317760194
No. They kidnapp people, make a synth out of them to see how well they blend in. Do experiments on the missing people, most likely FEV.
What they are trying to lead up to is to completely wipe humanity, replace them with synths as well as animals, and have them under their control with no free will.
Father literally explains this when you first meet him and on the CIT Building.
>>317785634
It's a little funny that the running theme of each faction is that you saved them and eventually have to put them down.
>>317785716
>The fucking BOS in the west even sent people to clear out the east BOS but they failed
Where the fuck are you getting that from?
>>317785718
Didn't Maxson just flat out say that he wanted wanted to purge the ghouls also?
>>317785916
Danse wants to kill Nick and the ghoul companion in his swap dialogues. Also bringing Nick aboard the Prydwin is hilarious.
>>317767715
Nobody cares for the Minutemen becaise they consist of a black guy who gives you repeat quests continuously and a bad Rust minigame
Endgame Minutemen are walking around with shitty nigger-rigged Musket Rifles and flannel shirts. If the Minutemen could actually be built up into a pseudo-militant force I'd be ALL OVER that shit, but as is, they're garbage
>>317785716
It's shit writing anon
No one is being a lore fag here, we are just rolling our eyes how they made what was once techpile hoarders that didn't give a shit about up top beyond keeping shit out of their hands became Super Heroes for the people in 3 to Dictatorial marshal law police force in 4
It's fucking stupid and misses the point of the whole faction.
>>317785972
>Danse wants to kill Nick and the ghoul companion in his swap dialogues.
Doesn't he stop doing that once he realizes he's a Synth though? He stops caring about you killing Brotherhood when he does.

>>317786118
You're an idiot and missed the whole point of the WCBpS if you think they just up and turned Lawful Stupid on a dime.
It's called 'story development'
>>317785916
Yes
In fact in the quests where the kid was feeding federals you can find out that Maxson isn't even comfortable with locals born in the wastelands being left alive because he sees them as ghouls in the making.
>>317786119
Nooo
in fact he still dislikes supporting Synths in anyway.
>>317786328
There is a conversation wheel where you can ask him about ghouls
He makes it very clear he thinks they are a risk that should be removed
>>317786529
>Maxson isn't even comfortable with locals born in the wastelands being left alive because he sees them as ghouls in the making.
That's a fucking Enclave mindset.
>>317786696
It's the mindset of a young child
>>317786419
It's awful and pointless Todd
And you can't stand here and say 3 to 4 BoS(or WCBpS as you called them) adds up. 3 was building them as genuine protectors of the people
4 is just evil monarch that thinks what he's doing is the best for the people without letting them have a say in it.
Thank god there's no "karma" system in Fallout 4, because good/evil in the game would find ways to trigger everyone.
>>317786839
It's the mindset of a bad writer
anyone here read the fallout bible?
>>317787049
>imagine being part of the Minutemen
>"You gained Karma :)" every time you killed a Synth
>"You lost Karma :(" every time you killed a Brotherhood
>>317782209
But Fallout 2 is a good game
>>317786927
>4 is just evil monarch that thinks what he's doing is the best for the people without letting them have a say in it.
That's literally your opinion.
The stance of the WCBoS, especially Maxson's ideology, has developed from the views of the Lyons chapter, the Outcasts, and Maxson's personal perspective in a way that makes clear sense if you paid any attention in Fallout 3.
But apparently doing something with the Brotherhood besides just having them sit in a hole in the ground and play with their dicks is "bad writing"
Hell, even NV recognized that what the EC Brotherhood was doing was toxic and self-defeating, that was the entire arc of their story.
