Everybody owns a PC that can at least play smaller games and emulate older stuff. Multiplats come to PC, so the next best console to get would the Nintendo one due to the focus on exclusives over multiplats.
It's also probably because a good percentage of /v/ are teenagers who can't afford other platforms, these are usually the most vocal advocates of their systems as well.

It's annoying. I have a fairly decent PC but there wasn't really that much to play this year. I played Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and GTA V and that's about it. But that doesn't really bother me since I have other platforms to play games on. The real problem is whenever you talk about a game that's not on PC someone will try to ruin the thread with port begging. I don't know where this mentality comes from, I don't know who'd wait a couple of years for a port or why they feel the need to turn threads about games into platform arguments but it fucking needs to stop.

I'm finally about to build a proper gaming PC since 10 years. I'm hyped as fuck: I finally get to play all the new multiplayer games I've been missing out and I get to pirate FO4 and other AAA games I've avoided coz of high prices. Not him, but you missed /v/'s regular threads about TF2, Starcraft, WoW, Dota, LoL, Doom, X-COM, grand strategy, roguelikes, etc. Nowadays its not as much because those and many others moved to /vg/ and /vr/.
Plus I heard about "PC master race!" back when Halo was still the main popular console shooter franchise and we used to have several threads shitting on it and bitching that the industry was making more casual console shooters to cash in on it's popularity. Same shit later when Modern Warfare 2 came out and we were bitching that they removed things like dedicated servers (everyone still bought it anyway, similar situation to Fallout 4 now). If anything, the fact that we have threads about those franchises with people hyped about the next releases or people having nostalgia for them (halo whatever number was better than it's sequel!) shows that the console kiddies invaded in full force.
Consoles are a scam. They're pretty much just budget PCs now without any of the good shit. The higher expense of a PC is usually the cost of owning a ps4/xbone during its generation while paying the monthly fees. You're going to end up paying around the same price eventually anyway but are getting something so much worse that its barely worth the upfront price as well. Sure you could get an old junker car and it'd work just fine for a while but you know it performs like shit and has lots of hiccups. Most people with some sense know to save up and buy something truly worth the money.
Console users are bad consumers. Console fags congregate on their normie forums/reddit/facebook while PC Players try to stay away from these cesspools and come here and other places to discuss things.

Gen 8 sucks too. The Wii U is the best console, but that's not saying it's particularly good. It's somewhat decent but it could be much better. I expected much more out of Nintendo. The Xbox One has no games, and the PS4 only has Bloodborne. When a console only has 1 game, that's damaging to gaming because it shows that people will buy a console for one game. It's mostly the major disappointment of the "next-gen" consoles. I remember that PS3 was always joked about having "no gaems" and shit, but ultimately the last gen had a huge line up of quality exclusive games to play despite all of it's flaws.

They're better on PC because you can use whatever controller you want, they look better, easier mods, and lower loading times. You cannot argue that a game is "better" when it's more expensive, they tell you what controller to use, there are no mods (or alternatively you have to go through a pain in the ass console modding process to mod it), and they take forever to load. Any reasonable person would just concede that these advantages are more ideal and therefore it's better to play these games on PC.
