DOAX3 fascinates me, a lot.
TN are currently working four seperate games at the same time: Hyrule Warriors(3DS), Final Fantasy Dissidia, DOAX3, Ni-Oh, as well as continued support for DOA5LR.
They get around for being a mid size studio.
So it fascinates me to see the TN team being fairly vocal in their dismissal DOAX3, and how much they think it's for "sex perverts" and "losers" but upper management doesn't care about that, they just want CASH MONEY. TN has been pushing very hard to restore their brand value as a premier action game studio but upper management seems to only cares about short term profits instead of long term brand value. You will notice that none of DOA5 team members outside of Hayashi have had anything to do with the announcements.
I highly suspect that this game is going to be literal actual garbage based on the small character list and short turn around time from announcement.
Tom Lee (creative director for DOA5) has pushed hard to get rid of that stigma that the XBV games have left on the franchise but Koei Tecmo don't seem to care, they're playing to the otaku crowd really hard.
I mean shit, the fact the game is primarily being made because of fan demand at the last DoA festival should really tell you everything you need to know about it - both that its development cycle is way too short for it to be anything but a waifu showcase piece, and that the money is all that matters here. I really doubt any of the devs besides maybe the artists have a passion to be working on this game.
