If it's supposed to get the sentiment across that now you're getting more bang for your buck than ever, as the amount of content in your average AAA game has skyrocketed, fine.
But the fact of the matter is, nowadays games are developed in part explicitly around how to sell the most DLC. I believe it was Assassin's Creed 2? Where they had you do missions 1 to 10, then at the 11th and 12th they would go "oh, looks like this data is corrupted, better continue with number 13!" because that's where DLC stuff goes? I could still puke at the shamelessness of that.
With shit like that around you just know half of the development effort is actually going into content for people to buy post launch. So you're shitting yourself if you think you're still getting your complete mona lisa, it's got nothing to do with artistic vision they just give you exactly as much as they need to to get you to hand them money.

That game has a hard mode that actually IS hard. You only have one life, and your health bar is instantly depleted by any damage you receive. There is no room for fuck ups. One mistake, and you're thrown back to the beginning of the game.
Normal and Easy are the only modes under which most people have been able to play and finish that game. I have yet to see anyone beat it on Hard. A friend of mine is able to get almost half-way there before invariably getting his ass handed to him. I personally cane make it up until that waterfall snake boss.

Something weird I've noticed is that games stopped being single-player experiences with options for multiplayer, and started being single-player OR multiplayer (with some single player content).
Older games like Goldeneye and Quake are known for their multiplayer, yet are still known for having great single-player content.
Newer games like Battlefront are pretty much exclusively multiplayer with no focus at all on multiplayer whereas newer games like Fallout are exclusively single-player with no possibility of multiplayer ever existing outside of mods.
My point is that if you want a modern game with local multiplayer, you're more than likely going to buy a game built around local multiplayer like Duck Game or Lethal League rather than one that just happens to have it Goldeneye
