We usually jokes about it, but did your parents or any relative ever mock or shame you for playing too much vidya?
My mother kinda hates any form or electronic entertainment, as a kid if i made her angry enough she could go as far as breaking some of my CDs
Other than that i remember an uncle being occasionally pissy at me because when we visited them i always used to spend time playing games with my cousin, or even alone
My parents adopted the belief that too much vidya is harmful to you so between the ages of 5 and 10 I was only allowed to play for like 90 minutes a day and a maximum of 5 days a week.Needless to say main reason I hung out with classmates was to play vidya at their homes.

My mother use to make fun of me for spending hours on Flight Simulator. Really use to demoralize me.
My father was more supportive on the issue, especially after the divorce.
Eventually found myself at sea 3 months of the year working with underwater drones.

When I was in elementary/middle school I was only allowed 1 hour of videogames a day on weekdays only, this included going on the computer.
I remember I always used it to play Runescape or games on the cartoon network site (I liked to play that beach party one or whatever it was).
Was never shamed for it though, but if I ever got bad grades videogames were always blamed and they'd take a week of them away (including computer use).

My parents were never that bad with it. When I was really young, my mom went through an anti-shooting game phase. She was telling me I should get rid of GodlenEye and such. That never happened, and no one in my family was really critical of it.
In fact, I remember being really young and bringing my N64 to my grandpa's house. I was playing GoldenEye again and he looked at the screen and shaped his hand into a gun at me and went "Bang!" playfully.

My old man used to play Ehrgeiz with me when I was a kid, and soon he'll get War Thunder once he unfucks his Linux machine. My sister sometimes plays video games both pc and ps4, same with her husband, but my mom and other sister don't get it. My parents tried to get me to stop playing games a couple of times in high school. For whatever reason they thought it was affecting my grades but it wasn't.
And one time a friend let me borrow Gears of War. My mom walked in on me playing and asked me to stop because it was too violent and she was afraid it would make me violent. Never stopped though.
Overall my parents were cool with me playing games. My dad would even play Halo 2 with me sometimes.
My mum and dad never cared. One year my dad got stabbed and his car stolen so he played Mario Kart Double Dash with me and my brothers while he was off work.
Now my dad sometimes plays whatever game I have on my 3ds when I leave it on the sofa to go cook food. I've spotted him twice playing Animal Crossing new leaf (he was fishing on the beach) and Fire Emblem: Awakening (he was fighting a bunch of risen. He got really excited when he levelled up Cordelia.).
My dad had this fixation of trying to beat Gran Turismo's tutorial on the PS1
He never managed, at some point the game always asked to pull a trick he couldn't understand, and since i was a dumb kid i never bothered myself

Still do, even though I'm turning 21 in a few weeks. They also get pissed at me for not wanting to go fishing or hunting with them and think I'm just going to stay home and play vidya.
Truth is that I don't spend nearly as many hours playing vidya as I do shitposting here. Also, I read books/manga/watch anime as well, so that takes up a good chunk of time.

Every time. Nothing good could come of them seeing me playing games so I just let it go. My parents walked in when I was playing Snake Eater during the scene where Snake and Eva were "wrestling" around the campfire in the cave. I tried to explain it wasn't porn but they both laughed.
My Dad walked in when I was playing Spider-man 2 (after he confiscated it from a kid at his chool, don't remember the context) and thought the the game was rad as shit.
Same for 1080 Avalanche on Gamecube. In fact I think he played that game more than I did and even broke a control out of rage during the actual Avalanche level.
Mom plays vidya on a semi-regular basis but only really likes easy, casual shit like Mario 3D World or Yoshi's Wooly Word. Still actually kind of fun when we play co-op although she will get easily pissed if I don't let her do everything.
Dad also loved playing N64 games. We would always do makeshift co-op where we would both try to stay in 1st and 2nd place and then fuck over the CPU at any given opportunity. Double Dash was based and I'm sad it hasn't returned to Mario Kart.

I use to share that town with them, but since moving out I got my own copy and once a week they come visit my town and take my stuff.
They also are really into SSX tricky, even though they are both not very good and I feel bad playing with them because I'm scoring a million+ points while they struggle to even break 100k. I let them have my gamecube so they could play together now that I'm gone.

My parents were around 15 years old when I was born. I was playing my dads NES as an toddler-young child since they were still going to school and my grandmother was the only one around during the day, and she was busy with work stuff. I was 4 when the N64 came out. They graduated and got it for me with their graduation money and we all played together until I started going to school and they had to get jobs to start actually financially supporting themselves.
I didn't have much growing up, but my parents always made sure I had love and games when they could afford it. We still play games together. Young parents are the best, I'm glad I'll get to grow old with them.

As far as I know, nope. I used to be socially awkward up until my college years but working in EMS (pic related), I had to fix what was wrong my speech habits. The stuttering, the rambling, the dumb adlibs I would say, I get along with alot of people now and really only feel awkward if I think I made someone angry.
