>>317577207
Yes, but Railroad and BoS have continuous goals - freeing all synths from slavery. BoS used to have a decent goal ("preserve technology, help the wastelanders") that became insane.
The Institute just kind of has no goal except.. staying alive underground and developing shit? Like why is this only possible underground? Why do they need synths for relatively simple food research? What?
>>317577290
It should be kind of obvious which the radiant (i.e. randomly generated) quests are, which include the DIA cache getting, the Weathervane quests, that kinda thing. They keep repeating (I'm pretty sure it's not endless, but it is a lot and it's optional). I think you need to do one of each to get a few new quests, and after that it mostly ties in with the main storyline.
>>317575614
Kinda... they also don't do a fucking thing. Really they're there for pussies to choose because even if you side with them "because they're normal" you still end up destroying the Institute. The game makes the choice for you, you just feel like it's the better one because Preston told you to.
Every faction in this game fucking sucked.
Does anyone else have people in their settlements they can't command? Mccready and Sturges won't do shit. The option for command doesn't even come up.
>>317577364
>Yes, but Railroad and BoS have continuous goals - freeing all synths from slavery
That is not the goal of BoS. They want to destroy all mutants, and safeguard all technology. Synths are mutants in their eyes.

I had no reason to care about Shaun at any point in this game. I think it was ok as far as a vehicle to move the story along, but Bethesda's classic mediocre story writing never lifts it above what it is, meh.
The entire game funnels you into joining the BoS, it is very likely going to be the first faction you run into because while doing the Graygarden quest for the minutemen you hit Danse's signal and auto-fucking-matically pick up the quest to start the chain of events that lead you to see a giant blimp with never ending VTOL death machines.
Why the fuck would you join a bunch of peasants or some terminal huggers in a basement after seeing that? Furthermore once you run into the institute their self guided tour quest doesnt give you any fucking reason to side with them besides LOOK AT ALL THIS SLICK SHIT WE HAVE [spoilers]plzdontlookatourFEV[/spoilers]!!!!

No. Consciousness is preserved when you go to sleep. You are operating on an incredibly binary and incorrect understanding of consciousness. Stop that.
The process being discussed is death. Not sleep. You die and a thing wakes up with your memories. You are not that thing. You died. In fact that thing can and does exist alongside you. Go watch Art murder Art out in Boston. Your consciousness is not required for the copy to operate. You do not continue when it kills you. You die. Just like it does not continue when you kill it. It dies. The two Arts are separate entities with shared memories. They are not a contiguous consciousness.
Death is not the same as sleep. Death is a true loss of consciousness. When the brain is sufficiently shut down to the point that consciousness can not be retrieved, it has died. Sleep is not this process at all.
100% synthetic augmentation is the only future humanity has left
either join our new plain of reality or be left behind in the ashes of nuclear fire, the choice is yours
>not choosing the best possible outcome (synths) a miracle of science that was created just in time to save the future of humanity
it is the final evolution
do not be afraid
>Humanity is doomed
>The only hope is to develop artificial lifeforms with the characteristics of humans to carry on humanity after the real humans have all died out
>>317578693
in 1000 years we may have devolved into a less advanced, less intelligent, DNA corrupted species
why would you ever take that fucking risk? preserve humanity as we know it now and if we need to evolve we can decide our own future intellectually
simply the only good outcome
>>317579158
You're operating under the assumption that I for some reason care which consciousness came first.
Art versus Art is a perfect example. No matter which Art wins, they both react the same way. They mourn the fact that they had to kill their copy, and well they should. But both of them are still Art
>>317578565
you know what, i wanna expand on that. FUCK shaun entirely. at no point should anyone feel anything about finding shaun. shaun sucks. babies suck. who cares.
but what if the game starts and its you being taken to the institute? you wake up after they've done whatever experiments and tests they wanted and you demand to leave to find your wife. they tell you about how the world has changed and it isnt safe, but they'll let you go under the condition you'll help them if they need it (railroad/bos/etc later in the game).
you don't get a huge tour of the institute, but a contained area for the sake of not giving it all away at the start. there should be a hint of something sinister, though, so that everyone's worries about the institute make sense.
ah fuck it this probably doesn't make sense. i'm going to bed.

you only have yourself to blame.
>>317578903
I was under the impression he was talking about it outside of the Institute path, and just as a general thing. It's currently not known how the Institute treats things when you take over, and I don't care enough about that to argue over assumptions.
>Not just living to be 90 or so and then transferring your consciousness into a synthetic body
literally the best possible outcome, nerds
just because you join the institute doesnt mean you have to transition right away
Institute is still the best possible choice
>>317578535
That's not the synths fault, that's the fault of the shitty people in charge.
>>317579153
Yeah sure, if it's a 100% perfect copy.
But there are no '100% perfect's in the universe. Perhaps the lack of one is the only one to exist. Even if the copy is 99.99999% identical, it is still a different consciousness, nevermind -actually having two separate physical bodies means you have two separate individual consciousnesses-. Unless you're constantly streaming & updating your consciousness, and not allowing it to think on its own, it's a separate entity. And even if you are, that's only temporary, and you may be creating an ethical quandary by overriding what that consciousness would otherwise do with your constant streaming & overwriting.
>>317578495
Even if you viewed identical memories as the only thing necessary to be the same thing, the instant it's copied it begins creating new thoughts from its new experiences that weren't and aren't yours because its a separate entity with a separate existence. The very moment it gains consciousness, it is immediately different from you.
It could help to look at it as copy/paste and cut/paste. If someone created a copy of you, and pasted it, there would exist two of you simultaneously. No one at all would argue that they're the same person, regardless of having identical memories because they obviously exist separately and you can see that they're currently creating new memories and experiencing new things independent of each other. However, people get confused when it comes to cut/paste because the old entity is destroyed. Functionally nothing is different though, one is a copy that is a new entity and the old entity is simply dead. The new entity doesn't have to be aware of what happened, and it doesn't matter that it happened because they *believe* they're the same person, but in actuality they aren't. It does matter to the old entity though, because they no longer exist.
>>317579345
For the outside perspective which came first is less meaningful. Even in another context there is room for entertaining the validity of both entities' continued existence. (I am pro synth) But for this discussion regarding the nature of consciousness and man continuing by the means described, it very much matters which came first because You are only one of them.
You are not the copy. You never will be. A new person is born with your memories. There is no more You when You are murdered, even if by your doppelganger. Both Arts are valid, and that supports what I am saying more than it helps you. That first Art does not deserve to be murdered by a guy who is just like him. Neither deserves to be snuffed out. And that is exactly what happens. One is snuffed. Ended. No more consciousness. Both were valid and neither benefit from the other being ended prematurely because they are not continued by the other.
So what I wanna know is in terms of carrying capacity, which is better for armour?
Ultra-Lightweight or whatever the best pockets one is called?
>>317579137
>But what's the difference between the two consciousnesses?
The difference is one is you and one is someone else.
>If they are 100% copies of each other why does it matter if it's "you" or not?
It should matter to YOU, no one else cares if either dies. But one of these will affect you, and the other won't in the sense of your continued survival. If your goal is to grant immortality to your consciousness the copy does nothing for you. If your goal is have a copy of you go on living so that it can affect the world around you in your name then go ahead. But copy pasting your memories does not prolong the life of your consciousness, it is a new and separate entity that shares your memories. It will believe it is you, but the consciousness in that body will not be the one you are experiencing at this moment. The YOU reading this will have died still.

Obviously the two consciousnesses wouldn't exist at the same time. I would happily die to let a synthetic me carry on my existence.
Sure, he wouldn't exactly be me one hundred percent, but that's half the point. He wouldn't make the same decisions I would make in the same situations simply because he'd have the inherent advantage of not being a fleshy body prone to weakness, disease and injury.
But as far as I'm concerned, he'd still be me.

Why stop at synthetics? Surely there are already betters out there who don't need you taking up their oxygen.
>>317579571
Deep pockets is far better for carrying capacity. +10 carrying weight is more valuable than taking something that weighs like 10 pounds and cutting off 5. On chest, it's +20, and even decked out combat armor is only like 15 pounds saving you 7.5 vs 20.
I think the point of light-weight is for sneaking. Heavier armor is supposed to make you more and more noticeable. Armor weight might be a factor is vats cost for sprinting as well, I don't remember.
>>317579605
I agree with you that Art did not deserve to die. But only because he did not choose to have himself be copied. It was forced on him, and that I do not approve of.

Deep pockets is best for carry weight.
Ultra-lightweight is a combination slight carryweight, better sneak, better AP consumption rate
But the effects are greatest for heavier armor.
Light armor with pockets vs heavy armor with lightweight is the real question.
>>317580010

My understanding is that the endgame of the Institute is to sit in their underground base continuing to prosper, expand and learn waited on by an army of Synths.
They see the above ground as a resource to be used and have completely written off the Commonwealth as not worth saving.
Presumably at some point down the line they intend to recolonise the surface on their own terms.
>>317575605

Its possible only underground because when they tried it above ground noone trusted them, as most people are retards and the institute is the only one with working and even developing tech.
So eventually the tensions between them and other factions lead them to bury themselves underground, its also one of the reasons they kidnap and replace people with synths, as this allows them to function above ground without people knowing that. And while not being present in person.

Uploading your mind into a synth, or teleporting in the sense that you're broken down and reassembled somewhere else doesn't mean that YOU are going to live on. You as in the consciousness you currently are right now is only going to exist as the YOU RIGHT NOW.
If you're uploading your brain, the synth will be you up until that point, but you will still be yourself. You are not the one going into the synth, a copy of you is, a clone. You die once you die, but the uploaded brain will still continue living, but you as the conscious person you are right now will not.

Are you a scientist? If your body is a machine made of meat, and your brain is a CPU made of meat, and *you* are your memories. Transferring your memories and contents of your brain into a new body, a new cpu, will be transferring your consciousness.
When you power on your new body, you will be conscious.

But then again you're just having a giggle and I'm taking a shitty discussion with underage kids too seriously.

>>317581834
STOP THIS
You're saying shit like transferring your soul is a joke, when that's exactly what you're trying to say.
If you clone yourself or COPY your brain into a robot brain, that means there's now two of you who are two different consciousnesses, your conscious that you are right now will not exist in two places at once, there will be two. So if you die after uploading your brain, that brain with a COPY of your consciousness will continue living, but the consciousness that YOU are will die.
>>317581919
But isn't that because the copies are working for the institute? Assuming that they weren't under command by the institute, they would continue living an identical life as to the original consciousness
>>317582105
>Assuming that they weren't under command by the institute

>>317582150

>>317582150
Yes, but what you are describing and have drawn is a brain transplant, and not copying your brain into another body.
Lets say you need to sit in a machine to transfer your memories into a synth. You sit down close your eyes, and the machine starts copying all your neuron path, Cell by cell it recreates the paths in the synth except well its not organic. At the end, you still wake up in the chair, and your life will still continue and you will still die eventually, except there will still be a clone of sorts of you running around.
Thats the point people are making.
>>317582150
That's not how synths work, like I said before it's easier and entirely possible to just make yourself into an cyborg.

>WAHHH BRAIN TRANSPLANT WAAAAH
A brain is an organ, most of it controls the processes of your body, sending signals here and there.
The part that you interpret as unique, the part that is *you* lies in your memories. That' the part you want to keep.
Why keep *you* in an inferior meat CPU for the sake of posterity, when you can transfer the contents of *you* that you value into a superior CPU that will not die?
This is what you actually look like by the way. Somewhere in this grey meat is your consciousness which you deem to be *magic*.
If I ate this grey fleshy matter would I be eating your *soul*? Would I be eating you? Looks delicious don't it?
Why not save that part of yourself forever?
You'll eventually get dementia and rot away trapped in here if you don't. Even in 10 years what you perceive to be your consciousness will rot away to the point of no return.
I'm offering you hope. I'm offering you a future.
>>317582882
That is the best publicly accessible AI.

>>317582919
I don't see the problem honestly.
Maxson knows that Danse is/was irreplaceable, but considering that the BOS are against the Synths, any exceptions that would have been made would be going directly against what they were fighting for. There are and were to be no exceptions, and Danse if the prime example of this lesson. If you would allow even one Synth to be an exception, who's to say more won't follow? Who's to say that when people find out, that they won't rebel against your leadership?

They are the authoritarian world police boston needs if humanity ever wants to get any sort of hope for the future.
The minutemen seem like the only other choice that seems good enough for me, but they clearly don't have the firepower to deal with raiders and the remainders of the institute, this way we don't have to force civilians to live a military life if they don't want.

In any case, even if you don't care about your consciousness surviving in a synth copy you are inherently trusting the legacy of your existence to a clone you have no control over. If you get to exist simultaneously, then there are people having interactions and forming relationships with "you" that you are not aware of and cannot control, which is problematic at best for the both of you if nobody learns there are two of you. If you are killed for the sake of there only being a single instance of you, then you are trusting your clone to continue your legacy in the same way you would do it. Further, beyond the philosophical questions of whether a perfect clone of you is truly "you" or not, synths are demonstrably imperfect clones. Their memories can be wiped and manipulated. They can be programmed by anyone with the sufficient technology. You aren't just trusting the legacy of your existence, which is the ONLY part of your life that matters beyond your personal stream of consciousness (which the Institute has proven they CANNOT transfer), to a synth but also to the Institute and every human being with the knowledge to manipulate it.
>>317584428
>You're still dead, only someone else has taken your place, i.e you have been replaced.
It's not like someone else is taking control of your original body.
You're merely just transferring consciousness to a new body.
People in this thread merely have an emotional attachment to their body that they perceive as *themself*. It's an irrational understanding at the biometric level.
If I take *you* and copy your brain to a new body. Now *you* have 2 separately working consciousnesses. *You* in the new body will not have even known the difference.
Regardless of the original, *you*, not a copy of you, not a version of you, not an imposter, but *you* will exist in a new body.
This idea frightens you, and because of that you reject the idea.
>>317584774
Of course it's the same as living on. You just won't get to experience it.

>You're merely just transferring consciousness to a new body.
Because it doesnt work that way.

>>317584631
How did you disprove my theory? Sounds like you exactly explained what I'm trying to convey.
Clone or not, you live on.
Not *YOU* the physical meatbag, that part doesn't matter.
*You* the essence of you, your brain, your consciousness, is tranferred, through time and space.*You* live on.
>>317584859
So what you're saying is, that its not me thats living on, but rather the idea of me?
My meme?
>>317584251I wonder if the argument about becoming a synth applies here and you in fact killed curie in the dream den
>>317584880
>I'm pretty sure they have the means.
Good luck with their "minute notice" with no vertibird.
>>317584746
because in real world terms transferring your consciousness is still possible.
these retards just dont want to admit it because theyre afraid of death, and overly attached to their physical bodies.
They have cyborg brain implants that can store organic consciousness. There is no 'copy' involved. With this technology you could directly transfer into the new body, there would not be a 'copy'. One you, one continuous consciousness.

The railroad could potentially see eye to eye with the institute just as the minutement could potentially form an alliance with the BoS.
However the BoS will never allow the railroad/institute to exist because their leader is a Warhammer 40k commissar calling for death to all xenos and heretics.
>>317584801
If his "clone" as you put it... is attacking himself.
It's because he himself has chose to eradicate the originate copy, probably out of fear of 2 of him existing at once.
Art kills himself. Not a clone.
>>317584939
at that point you might as well just have kids, and argue that everyone has eternal life through family.
>>317584801
>(which the Institute has proven they CANNOT transfer)
The only thing they can't transfer is the "experience" of being awake the entire time during the transference. Why should the stream of consciousness even matter?

>>317585231
I explain that by saying that he probably didn't choose to have his consciousness transferred into a synth and was actually a product of the institutes insidious replacement scheme which is mentioned constantly throughout the game?
There's a difference between being copied by bad guys and willingly transferring yourself into a new body.
>>317585106
Unless he's still under institute control, like most synths who replace people
>>317585036
>never wanting to eat again

This thing is pure illusion and an abomination.
I left it inside to be nuked.
According to the people in this thread, every time Neo jacked into the Matrix, he died, was recreated, and then when he left the Matrix a doppelganger program took over his original body
Whoa dudes
>>317585535
Only to a special type of FEV.
There's multiple breed and it only cures one.
>>317585106
The problem is that the original didn't want it. They have no consensus. In this case, Art was a victim of his clone making a decision against his own free will. Not only does this violate any idea that synths are perfect clones of you who would only do what you would do and think exactly like you, but it shows that they have no interest in continuing your legacy, your philosophical existence, and instead would rather live as an individual free from your identity.
>>317578168

Third gen synths are not people. They're synths. They should either be used as labor or destroyed.

What? I'm saying that Art himself chose to kill himself, not that a fucked up corrupted version of himself did
Without speaking to the synth, there's no way of knowing whether it was corrupt, if if Art in the synth's body made a conscious decision to eliminate his old self
>>317584953
>>317585428
Though in this case, it's not only your memes that would live on, but your genes as well. And they would both be perfectly preserved, unlike genes passed onto children, and memes preserved in history and culture.
>>317584806
You're not "transferring your consciousness", retard.
Your memories have no magic aura around them.
You are an animal. You are a physical being. You are your brain and your body.
Your memories are just data that you collect on your hard drive.
Your memories have no soul.
Copying your body and putting your data in your copy is irrelevant.
I genuinely believe you're too stupid to understand this or you have crazy death anxiety
>>317585626
Yes. Although if you cloned YOURSELF, rather than having been cloned against your will, both parties would be on board with the idea of there being two yous.
Obviously you wouldn't fucking clone yourself if you wanted to live on, you'd transfer your consciousness like dr amari does in the Memory Den.
>>317585740
You get to eat because you want to eat, not because you have to.
Unless synths do have to, where does their power come from otherwise?
>>317585740
You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize?Ignorance is bliss
>>317585831
>where does their power come from otherwise?
You'd have to ask someone from the M.I.T.
>>317585216
Because there are only three things that prove your existence as an individual, unless you believe in souls. Your genetics (which do not exist in a synth clone as they are all genetically based off of Father), your legacy (your philosophical existence in everyone's memories and in your accomplishments, which synths cannot carry out in the same way you would), and your own stream of conscious thought, hence "I think therefore I am". If you aren't experiencing what your synth is doing, and your synth isn't projecting your genes (your biological existence) or providing a true simulation of how your life would proceed if you weren't a synth (thus extending your legacy and your philosophical existence) then how is a synth you, besides having the same face?
>>317585605
The matrix just makes your body comatose while your mind is completely preoccupied piloting your videogame character. If you want to be pedantic you can say the virtual Neo died when the real Neo unplugged.
>>317584806
But you'll just wake up next to a copy of yourself, before you're promptly assassinated

>>317579079
super mutants were made by the FEV. artificially made
ghouls were made by radiaton. which was brought artificially by humans when the bombs fell
>>317585792
No, you aren't realizing that what you perceive as "consciousness" is literally just your unbroken stream of memories being powered on in the machine that is your body.
If I take those memories, put them in a new cpu, power you on, you'll still experience consciousness.
>Your memories have no magic aura around them.
So we actually agree then. Welcome to the collective.
>>317585775
Corrupt or not, "original" Art was against the idea. The synth is deviating from the path the original would have taken. It is at that point its own person, a free agent with free will who can't be counted as the same as its original because of that difference. This is especially true if it made the decision itself. "Art" as a conglomerate being between himself and his synth made no decision due to a lack of consensus.
>>317586140
But you won't experience consciousness, your copy will. You just get to experience death.
>>317578565
I don't get why bethesda likes to put the PC into a high position of power that doesn't do anything.
I'd be fine if you only get a rank or two in an organization that you've been involved with for two weeks. But it seems pointless to make the PC the head, or second in command of a faction and be unable to have any influance on that faction.
It would have been so much better if becoming the leader of the institue could have been lead to get even more insane and treat the surface as only a test bed, and people on the surface are inherintly subhuman, or go completely the other way and get the institue to actually try to help humanity beyond testing on them. Making them openingly help larger settlements and provide things that people need.
You could encourage the BoS to double down on being anti-synth and get to the point where it's such a good idea to get rid of them anyone being accused can be taken out back and shot to save people from technology, or getting them to realize that synths even if it's programing act way human enough to slip into places as human, so attempting to kill them is just pointlessly fighting over details.
Or simply convince the railroad to do something that benefits more people instead of smuggling out a handful of synths when raiders and super mutants are still a real thing that harm more people then the institue harms synths
None of the leadership positions feel earned, they arn't tied to any "Earn X favor" so you rise through the ranks over six missions/quests
>>317575268
Mr Jefferson did nothing wrong
>>317585815
Problem being that the synth made a decision on its own. The act of killing the original is not the issue. It is the fact that it made a decision that deviated from what the original wanted. Who is to say that a self made clone of yourself would not decide that it didn't want the original you to die, and kill itself to prevent you from killing yourself?
>>317586156
The synth is doing what the original would do if he found out he were a synth.
>>317585427
>At least they have the means to replace them indefinitely.
Weren't Vertibirds a rare prototype in 2? Why the fuck is it that the BoS has a seemingly endless supply of the things, and why are they so fucking easy to shoot down?
Can I join the brotherhood, railroad, and institute and complete all of their respective quests during one play through? Or will progressing so far with one faction make me unable to complete later missions of another faction?
>>317585775
the difference is, when I talk down real art, he puts his gun away and is willing to not kill his clone.
When I talk down synth art, he tries to kill me and the original.
My only problem with the synth as immortal copy is that its being made by a third party who has specific interests in mind in creating it and is, for all intents and purposes, an isolated research and development facility with no way to actually control what the fuck its doing once they release it to the wasteland.
Sooner or later, the Institute is going to either morph into skynet or become 1984
>>317586313
Progressing so far down the line will eventually net you a quest with each faction that essentially locks you out of working with all other factions, and autofails all missions you've taken for other factions
>>317586236
And in the end of them all you just get a pat on the back, "Good work for being the best of us all, Now go do more infinite quests"
>>317586290
Except the original knows. He begs for you to help him escape his synth, as he is afraid that it will harm his family. He is well aware that the other "him" is a synth.
>>317586313
>that pic

>>317586313
You can be a triple agent like halfway into each of their stories. There's even a quest where there's a three-way battle where all three sides can potentially be friendly to you, so you can just walk around undisturbed.
>>317586313
The game will tell you that at certain point in each faction quest line.
>>317586140
That's a different person with your memories
To other people it might seem like it's you but it doesn't matter.
We are physical beings, not space wizards

>that fucking quest
it was brilliant, so much free gear. It felt so anticlimactic though, that big gunfight with me just walking through the warzone looting every corpse.
Even better that the BOS are by far the strongest faction in the battle but you get an invincible synth buddy to slowly wipe them all out so you can steal their shit too.
Who even use the institute laser weaponry?
It's dogshit for something designed by a group of genius.
>>317575970
So what makes a synth different from a human at that point, besides being born in a lab?
>>317586634
I use the rifle with extra freezing damage, which makes it better than any of the laser rifles I've found so far.
But yeah, it's kind of dumb that they're so ineffective. Maybe they're built to be efficient instead of powerful or something.
>>317586634
I never saw the point since Danse gives you a good lasergun that's easier to upgrade. They could have probably given the institute better weapons too because they actually seem pretty weak and easy to kill compared to the BOS. In any encounter that involves both, the BOS just seem to annihilate the institute
BoS are fucking cyber nazis apparently. At least the enclave made their own shit, the BoS just steal everything
>>317586702
They aren't. The only reason the Institute keeps claiming 3rd gen synths are not human is becase they don't want to let go of the conveniency of the 3rd gen synths. They're in denial, basically.
>>317586907
Nazis made their own things.
Everyone stole everything they did afterward.
>>317579326isn't this like niers story?
So im nearing the end and im about to choose sides, So far im thinking railroad mostly because they seem to be the only faction that are fine with Curie, "Father" only seems to lie to your face And i have to opinion on marxon at all.
>>317587225
That's pretty much how I felt.
Was a toss-up between then MMs and the railroad, just because the BOS and institute are woefully ignorant to the facts about synths, and have very little care about Boston in general
>>317587225
Railroad are retards.
The curie case is special.
Technically she a normal robot who got transfered into a human-like body and she knows she's not human+ doesn't hide it.
>>317587749
Well, synths would probably be more like her if the institute hadn't forced them into such an awkward situation where they have to pretend they're human to be free.
>>317587225
>Unironically choosing railroad
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Why would you help a bunch of secret agent-playing loonies erase 200 years of progress, kill the entire human staff of the Institute and kill most of the 3rd gen Synths of the Institute, just to free 13 synths plus some synths on the fence about leaving?
>>317587834
You're blaming the wrong persons here.
This paranoia is all because of the railroad fuckups

Dude, I care about like 4 people in the entire commonwealth, One of which is me.
>>317586634

You deal 10 dam with them but the synths can deal 50.
Why not make them uber energy weapon but use a source of energy only availble in the institute.
>>317582105
>If you clone yourself or COPY your brain into a robot brain, that means there's now two of you who are two different consciousnesses, your conscious that you are right now will not exist in two places at once, there will be two. So if you die after uploading your brain, that brain with a COPY of your consciousness will continue living, but the consciousness that YOU are will die.
The copy is just as much me as the original though. If my original self dies and my copied self lives on I live.
>>317588025
but they've achieved free will on their own, the institute just effectively kills them if they do that whilst in the institute, instead of acknowledging them as conscious beings and giving them any sort of right to their thoughts, they just kill them, which drives them to the railroad in the first place. They are robots as much as we are organic machines.
>>317588025
>A machine have no rights or freedom
Because no one has made such laws yet, in real life or in the Fallout universe, because artificial intelligence with free will doesn't exist yet. But 3rd gen synths are artificial intelligence with free will.
