To me, King Julian was the comedy relief, and the Penguins were their own characters, making the "smart, tough, dumb, and cute" shtick work on its own, because that's all it needed. All the penguins were likable in their own way because of how the other 3 reacted to them.
Penguins was a good show, actually. I followed it for some time. Far better than the movies, as the Penguins were more interesting characters than the lion, zebra, and ect.

I own this game, never even watched the show. I have it with me on my desk right now.
It was surprisingly very fun. It's just a bunch of mini games but it also had co-op. One of the mini games was a fighting game with the 3 main aliens and other 3 dudes if I recall. It was surprisingly nice considering each character had their own powers and shit and you could pick between the 6 characters. My cousin and I kicked each others ass with that game a lot, fun times.
It's really been a while, but it's actually decent, especially if you're a kid that needs some distraction.

Guys, there was an anime that aired on Jetix about 10-12 years ago, I don't remember any of the plot, besides that the timeline resets, even down to some of the main characters meeting eachother for the first time again.
