It was probably overpriced when it came out and couldn't beat the dedicated hardware in actual gaming, but the price drop was massive when they tried to force it to the market so you could get some value for your money. In retrospect, mobile gaming just couldn't happen without proper mobile internet services. The software support was just awful, both quality and quantity.

I played its sequel time blades and even though it is a balant copy of god of war I must say they put quite some effort in it. The combat is simple but so is GoW's, its time mechanics are solid and the game introduced new mechanics even late into the game. It also had costume and other collectable stuff. It was pretty sweet. It's not. It's that simple. I've put like 700 hours into Destiny myself. A mix of patch after patch somehow making my connection worse and the fact that it's just notfunanymore just made me stop playing. I put it back in last night and had a go. Completed one mission on my Hunter and was over it.

I made a post listing every single thing I tried, including contacting my ISP to make sure there were no issues. A Bungie bot came in, said "Try contacting your ISP to make sure there's no issues" and then marked the thread as 'Solved'.

That's not even about HL itself, it is about the episodic structure. Everyone starting with Gabe talked that this is the release format of the future, that every game will be episodic in a couple of years, even "it will be a SHAREWARE for a new age!" if i remember correctly, and then what? The HL2 episodes ironically were quite the opposite of what the episodes per se were intended to be - parts of one story intentionaly broke into smaller pieces and released in a short timespan - and were just really short expansions that took insane amount of time to make. Other kind-of AAA game that relied on that structure, SIN Episodes, never get past Ep1, and the only ones that mastered the format back in the day were Telltale, and their games and format form a very special medium in which not that much of devs can work.

Yup. Microsoft went out of their way to screw over the PC audience, so that the cross-platform play would be even. DESPITE the mouse fuckery, PC platform still BTFO'd console players. So the servers eventually got shutdown as less and less console players played the title.

Street Fighter V and Killer Instinct crossplay actually look pretty good. The genre is perfect for the concept.
The SFV beta was pretty great with ps4 - pc matches.
