Vinny and Joel turned out to be the only two decent streamers so everyone else broke off to have their own Twitch channels that nobody watches.
Nothing really went wrong except for Vinny not screening the streamers more closely to make sure that he didn't have people like DireBoar or Limes taking up space on the same channel that had fuck-mothering Uncle Jobel.

I liked vinny and tame, some of the later streamers they got were awful. I don't remember who it was who did assassins creed 2, but he was so terrible and ignored all advice. It was really frustrating.

Been there since July 2010 when Vinecraft was a thing.
I skipped out a lot of the stream in 2013-2014 and what a disaster its become. It really coddles to the twitch attention whore audience in general. Old chat was bro chat. I miss the interaction in and out of the stream. I still play with a few streamers from time to time and still in good connections with one of them. But jesus the site really took a downturn when it focused on the youtube/corruption crowd.

I honestly feel somewhat bad for vinny's situation, or at least part of it.
He started the stream as just a fun thing, and kept it like that for the first 3 years, only just recently did he make the jump to big twitch and youtube streams, once he lost his job he realized "Well if I just keep with this it will help me live" Now he's stuck with this horrible community of cancer that even he doesnt like compared to the small 100-200 person community, he's spoken out about it numerous times but realizes that doing so will do nothing to help his situation and probably just risk his living situation without bringing back the old magic of his site. Half the streamers her used to be buds with have left the site, and the rest have drifted apart as his friends, now he has a handful of moneyhungry people whoring for views on his website without so much as mentioning him.
All the while everyone screams at him for being some giant sellout, when he's just an average guy who has no big overall plan, he's literally just trying to get by and enjoy his life, being lucky enough to make a living off of it.
At least the money he brings in lets him live a nice life, which is good for him, but it must sting like hell to have something you enjoy so much be warped into this horrible little thing.
It's going to be heartbreaking the day he admits he just doesnt want to do it any more and leaves the site.

So this guy set up a quick livestream account to fuck with a bunch of people on /v/. This was before speedrunning got as huge as it is now, probably before GDQ was a thing. He made a thread on /v/ about how he was speedrunning Majora's Mask there and people started flooding in, even had to have a couple of threads I think. At the end of the run, he zooms out to reveal he was really just streaming a run he'd found on Google Video. Most people got pissed and abandoned the stream, but I thought it was funny. Checked back on a whim the next night and he was streaming again, just random shit that time. I stuck around and ended up becoming a regular.
Think he streamed for a few months. That's what it felt like, could've been much shorter than that. I just remember it seemed like we had a small community forming. Anyway, one day I go to watch the nightly stream and his channel's been banned. That's it. No group outside of the stream, so I instantly lost contact with all of them. Made a thread about it here but had no luck. Still miss that stream, it was very comfy. I went by Jailbot.

Basically twitch.tv doesn't support the idea of a 'community of streamers' very well. So unless you all trade-off on one channel you are basically fucked.
Because you can't follow the "group" just each individual channel and most people are to lazy to bother to do this.
So they watch, mostly, the one channel the groups named after: Vinesauce, which only Vinny uses now.
So the other channels suffer due to mostly lack of exposure, but also because Joel/Vinny are the only two worth watching anymore anyway.
The best thing they could do to recover for their other streamers is do "group' streams more often. Which would mostly just mean one person plays the game, but many people talk or they do something co-op or vs (god damn if we ever get a Kong Off again).
