I want you to realize that this thinking would also mean that writers should not have editors and games shouldn't have producers, etc.. The fact it's censored just means that it was put through a different "head"; the type of censorship you see almost certainly happened before the initial release, as well. But they do know better than the original developers. That's why the original developers hired them. A big part of localization is navigating the political and social climate of different culture. If it was my job to localize a game for a Chinese audience, I would keep the content control laws in mind, like it or not. And like it or not, content control in the Western market is moderated in part by social media. That's not the localization team's fault. This is what they were hired to do. The blame lies with social media and content rating agencies, if it lies with anyone at all.
