There is no DLC as far as I know. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is out in Japan since September now, and the only additional content are dungeons you get with codes.

Apart from the 2 hours of exposition at the start of the game, when it opens up it gets really good. Like I would say this is better than explorers of sky.
It's for the most part the same gameplay which hasn't changed since rescue team though it is a lot better in that when you hold the L button you can choose any of your attacks instantly rather than having to open the menu each time you need to choose a move. Hunger is still in the game and it's definitely the most difficult mystery dungeon yet though it still is a kids game.

There is lots of DLC in Gates to Infinity. But the DLC was mainly so that you could get the other starter Pokemon which you didn't choose more easy, and dungeons with items which are hard to get without DLC (a Thunderstone for example), and dungeons where you get easy money.

The main issue is that there are just too many starters by this point, and you just HAVE to include them all as playable.
When the first Mystery Dungeon released, there were half as many starters as there were now, which allowed room for more "unique' choices like playing as Meowth, Skitty, or Machop.

I worked at a coffee shop in a predominately white town. An Arab guy in what I assume is traditional clothing and a beard down to the bottom of his ribcage came in and ordered coffee, then sat down and started talking with some other people in a language I didn't recognize. My boss came in about twenty minutes later and was immediately uncomfortable-looking when he saw the guy, and called me to the back not long after, where he told me we couldn't have a guy like that in our store because he'd scare away customers. He told me to get rid of him, I said no, and it turned into a pretty heated argument that wound up with me fired because I told my boss he was being a racist asshole.
All the money I can spare is going towards legal recourse, so as far as leisure spending on Pokemon games go, I'm effectively broke.

I never played it, so I can't really comment on if it's better or not, but as someone who's played every other game in the series, it's really enjoyable. The difficulty spikes sometimes (Salamence), but it seems to tread the line pretty well on that front.

Move linking is gone for that reason and replaced with Alliances, which is all active Party Pokemon do a move at the same time - so I guess you could do triple stat down, or two stat down and one attack.

Remakes are way, way better than the original games for lots of reasons. EO1 had some bugged abilities that didn't work, and it was so hard that if you didn't exploit the fact they made immunize reduce 90% of physical damage it was almost impossible to beat it.
In EO2 they removed immunize, but the game was STILL hard as balls, the best way to win was to spam force skills like mad. Also FOEs gave literally no experience, so you were underleveled all the game.
EO3 doesn't have a remake, but it's my personal favourite of the series with U2.

I'm a etrian odyssey fan and I regret buying EMD out of pure trust.
Simply put: EO mechanics don't mix well with MD, and so you get one hell of a messy game that it's absurdly boring for the first 10 or so hours, just to become absurdly frustating and bullshit in the endgame. Let's take the AI. Dear lord the fucking AI in EMD. It's like they took a tour on /v/ to collect the dumbest shitposter, analyzed their stupidity pattern, and then inplemented it into the game just to make your ass blast up from raging diarrhea.
Also the cafe. At the cafe, you get the most boring and shitty quests ever seen in the entire JRPG history, and the cafe discussion? You can't absolutely understand a single thing the people at the cafe say, the worst dialogues ever seen in any form of media.
Enjoy not beign able to use royalties, since nobody has EVER fucking tested them: YOUR TEAMMATES DODGE ROYALTIES' BUFFS. And if you try fire arms? The game bugs up and the target's strenght is raised FOREVER.
The fort and DOE mechanics sound fun, at first. But when you have to reenter the same dungeon dozens of times because those fucking rafflesias just can't stop raiding your shitty fort over and over again, it gets old very, very quickly.
