Well, the PS3 was the JRPG powerhouse last gen. You have the Personas, the Tales Of games, Ni no Kuni (play this one), Valkryia Chronicles, Disgaea, and so on.
There are also HD collections for most things worth playing from the PS2, if there were some games there you've yet to play.

Personas are on PS2, and I'm held back on Disgaea because I've not even played the PSP ones.
What do I expect from Ni no Kuni?
Also I've got a bunch of HD collections. I'm disappointed the Splinter Cell one sucked.

Is the PS3 super slim just the cheapest model or does it actually offer advantages over the regular slim? I'd like to pick one up finally, but I like the aesthetics of the regular slim a lot more than the super slim.

I like the tray thing although it does feel a bit flimsy.
If you like the aesthetics of the first Slim I say go with it. I prefer the Super Slim myself. The tray thing seems strangely retro.

Or you could get started on the Legacy of Kain series. Blood Omen is on the store, Soul Reaver is on the store, I think Soul Reaver 2 might also be there?
