What are some action games with a deep combat system like Batman Arkham? I've played other games in the genre but was hoping for some games with a combat system in vein of Bamham rather than a generic button masher like DMC or NG.
All jokes aside if you're really into deep combat you might want to try out Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max.
NG is probably about the closest thing.

I've beaten every Arkham game aside from AK. I enjoy the series but the reputation it gets from casuals who think, "COMBAT TAKEDOWN SO EPIC XD," is good combat fucking sickens me. It's alright but they can't even design good boss fights around the combat system ffs, which is telling of either the inherent inferiority of Arkham combat or Rocksteady's general incompetence at game design.

Sadly batman could be a deep action game, but it's pretty braindead to cater to its demographics. Enemies rarely respond to what you are doing, and nearly every enemy in the game functions of the same basic principle of hit it until you can parry.
