No in batman it is just assassin creed combat with lots of enemy and less stealth and god off war is a real button masher. just square square and triangle and it will do most of your damage. comboing is so easy in both games, just as long as you dodge and spam you will do well

Because it's not a good genre yet? I mean it's cool that you can gatling into cancels and weapon swaps and styles or whatever, but there's not much going on beneath the hood and the genre has more or less stood still since DMC1.

I don't feel like DMCs combat is really all that deep based on combos but the fact every move has its uses and it's more of a game about controlling your enemies rather than dodging.

Almost every enemy in the game will get stunned when you hit it and just let you beat it's ass. Your threat isn't usually the enemy you're fighting, it's the enemies on the side of you and behind you.

That's what I like about the series.

DMC combat is great due to the economy of moves: while there may be a less number of moves overall than other CUHRAYZEE games like NG or Bayonetta, each move has more individual worth as a result. Every move has a use, even moves that you might not think would see any use, like Real Impact. Its essentially a quality vs. quantity debate. Bayonetta and NG both, while I do very greatly enjoy them, give you so many combos per weapon, yet especially in NG's case, only a handful of them are really useful (it's really not so bad in Bayonetta honestly, especially when you get into Charge Modifiers and shit). DMC sets itself apart from just about every other franchise that took its cue from the series by crafting a combat system where each individual move is useful and may have more than one application in itself.
