I ran into a queen mulik...thing out in the swamp area. I've only seen one other queen and it was in the quest to take back a castle for the minutemen. Anyways, I used VATS to try to hit the queen with a mini nuke but it just went right through her body and hit shit behind her and didn't even damage her. Thanks Todd.

I found an explosive double-barrelled shotgun today and holy hell, is it fun to use. Completely destroys everything. The only problem is I keep fucking killing myself with it. Either a ghoul bum-rushes me and it blows up in my face when I hit the thing or I end up hitting Codsworth with it by mistake

I pirated Fallout 4 the day it was released I just completed the main quest and have no more enthusiasm to play this game anymore. This comes from someone who spend thousands of hours in previous bethesda games, I can't describe how it feels, but it just feels like the same old formula they're using for their game. Every fucking piece of broken power armor here is because of Curie. Give her fully repaired armor, 5 minutes later she's thinking it's a great idea to melee a suicider. I can't even take away her melee weapon because she picks up shit off of dead enemies regardless and uses it without me telling her to.

I've not really had any major issues with it. At one point the framerate went to complete shit, I'm talking like 1FPS for about 30 seconds. Eventually a vertibird fucking crashed in front of me and blew up and it went back to normal. I think it flew into a building or was fighting some high up mutants.

Do actions they find favorable, usually to their skill like Cate likes pickpocketing and when you're aggressive to NPCs. Eventually your compaion makes some admission to you or some back story which ends in a new quest for them, like FNV did. During this conversation there will be an option to flirt. After completing the quest and some time has passed, I think 1-2 in game days they will initiate another conversation about helping them. At the very end the last speech option will be something like Thank You, Don't Think of it, Romance, or Dismiss.

That can be patched. To me it looks like a hotfix they did to keep AI from clipping through bridges and platforms. Skyrim rarely had as many large multi layered structures as Fallout 4, so they probably didn't know how to get around this issue.
What it looks like it's doing is your character clipped through the ground and the game frantically tries to find the next piece of ground it can snap to.

Nah, Double shoots another projectile that just does the base damage without any of the multipliers from mods (but with perks). That's why an explosive Minigun is most better unless you get all the heavy weapon damage perks.

My friend says his towns have gotten raided by Synths multiple times and he encounters them often, I'm not sure if it is because I haven't progressed that far in the main story-line yet or what, but I've only encountered Synths in 2 areas so far (Once in Fort when you are hunting Kellogg, and once in the old factory/bunker you go with Danse to retrieve some tech from in his early quests).

I got the KneeCapper in that quarry where you get the Sacrifical Blade. The kneecapper is a 10mm pistol that has 20% chance of crippling limbs. My best weapon for taking out high powered single enemies. Death claws are literally a joke to me now even though they kill me in 1 slash.

They use them as tools to do their dirty work, literally. Above ground or general maintenence like normal robots.
But from what I gathered from the limited dialogue in the story was that there is a malfunction with Gen3 synths and it caused them to go rogue (this part I wish you could investigate but there is nothing related to this beyond that they are malfunctioning) and those rogue synths end up becoming raiders and shit or living normal non-aggressive lives.
Also the Institute sort of killed a bunch of people who where trying to form some sort of government during a meeting in Diamond City using a Courser because they refused to participate in experiments (This again you cant investigate)
All in all a bunch of missed oppurtunity and lots of plot-holes in terms of how Bethesda handled the Institute.
My general view of them is that they just want to experiment 24/7 and pretend that they are helping humanity by being locked up all day.

How so? I went 3 on my build to start for Lifegiver and maybe Toughness. Chem Resistant is about the only other useful perk I saw, at least the only one I think would be generally useful and worth the investment.
Melee builds really need Agility for Blitz + Ninja, with maybe Luck for the critical perks (I imagine Nightcrawler criting an entire pack to death would work well); everything else, even Strength you really only need like ~3 pt; though I'd probably dump the difference in PER/INT for the lockpicking and hacking stuff.

Once you get some ranks in science and armorer so you can upgrade them to have higher resistances/health/titanium you almost never have to repair it

I'd get all the way to at least Goodneighbor in the main story before you start exploring in earnest, otherwise you will end up with a situation like I was in where you are fighting Mirelurk Queens/S.A.R.G.E. at a super low level and getting one shot.
Having Diamond City and Goodneighbor unlocked also gives you access to vendors of all kinds, if you just explore too much without visiting them first (like I did) you end up with way too much gathered shit that you just have stashed away and then when you finally unlock the major cities with their merchants you have to make multiple runs carrying all the shit to sell.
Getting to Goodneighbor shouldn't take you too long (only like 5ish quests I think in the main story line), and will net you multiple companions to use for your exploration.
Cogsworth, Dogmeat, Preston Garvey, Piper, and Nick Valentine are all companions you can earn through the main story line just by getting to Goodneighbor.
