ITT: Games with a great main menu
>>316653271
okay that looks pretty neat
remember me was great but the game had a bad case of too many games that time of the year
>>316653010
That menu was so much more comfy than the TFT one.
>>316653738
i respectfully disagree
Especially when paired with the music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1siPgAVOAtU
>>316653107

Seriously one of the best menus there are.
Always loved how it showed your custom army commander
>>316653010

Man Warcraft 3 was great.

why would you preffer TFT over 3?

Better music, and seeing the throne itself in the distance sendschillsdown your spine, as though you're almost at the end.
Also I like the snowy setting of Northrend.
>>316654398
i get what you are saying and thatscool
however i simply cannot agree to it being just as comfy
hell the majority of people never even completed the original story let alone TFT
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atuWJoRRYFM
>>316654605
I would think quite a few did seeing it's so easy to just cheat your way through the campaign.
Arkham City had a great menu.

This one.
>>316653107
poor dude, gets shanked half way through the game
>>316654725
Aion's OST and PvP were seriously GOAT, shame about the rest of the game though.
"Enemy in the perimeter, range 300"
"They're everywhere!"
Unreal Tournament 99
>>316654398
I'm the one who said it wasn't as comfy and I think it was more of a matter of how it left the B.Net chat rooms. The darker sky was easier on the eyes since the text was white.
Also, it's probably just a matter off I spent 80% of my time playing W3 with TFT so the RoC menu feels more refreshing.
>>316654725

metroid prime 1 for the music

>>316653010
Actually gets my vote for best main menu ever. Man they fucking nailed it with Reign of Chaos. Frozen Throne was just meh... sucks that it had to be the expansion.
>>316655405
Yeah, Thief has one of the thickest and most immersive atmospheres in gaming. The menu is a nice, concise representation of that. As soon as you boot the game up, you know what you're getting into.
Do ya'll niggas even know how to menu?
I love this one.
The "Back" and "Accept" sounds
and the dude over there changes from time to time depending on the the mission i think. Could be random tho.

I wanted to play these, but I heard that the new races and campaigns they introduce in the expansions are ONLY accessible in that expansion. Wouldn't that make them stand alone games instead of an expansion, since they aren't expanding the main game? I pisses me off that everything is spread across 4 or 5 different games.

One where your baseline infantry squad will beat any other baseline infantry squad if they just stand still.
Fire warriors are your turrets.
Not just the music, but the animation in Heroes of Might and Magic V's main menu was pretty fucking great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OwS8Np8UAc
With more focus on music, I'd say Evil Genius' pretty fucking good at setting an atmosphere without going TOO ham. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C0Ubkfo8m8
And in a similar style. Red Alert 3 was pretty fucking good. Sure, the game is... Flawed. But that music, man. It's no red march, but it's cool.

That's all Sakurai though
MGSV's ACC is really well done. Not only do you see Big Boss with whatever clothes and weapons he was wearing, but the weather outside is also dynamic.
Most importantly, you literally use the ACC to start every mission and step out of the helicopter. Really well done imo.

wtf i thought i made it clear i overall prefer morrowind. skyrim just has better atmosphere. i mean the elder scrolls game overall has a problem with too much gui nonsense but skyrim at least toned it down a bit. there's nothing wrong with reading but if youre looking to get immersed and just want to ask around for something to do, it can break the flow of the game to have to read constantly. and no, pretending reading video game text is as engaging as actual gameplay doesn't make you smart. are you a middle schooler or some shit?
and yeah the footsteps are a big problem. i don't know if any of the mods fix it but it breaks immersion too
i mean you dont have to agree and we shouldnt derail the thread more than we already have but cmon man, at least have an actual argument outside of presumptions of skyrim players
