I don't inherently hate EA or DICE, but this game felt so strange and archaic to me.
Like it had all the technological enhancements and scale that a modern Battlefield game would have, but the gunplay and vehicles were so...uncomfortable.
Old games that function like arcade shooters feel good and snappy, new games with realistic movement and Iron Sights feel weighty and take precision and effort, but Battlefront is some weird in-between that excels in no regard, gameplaywise.
The graphics and especially sound-design are 10/10.

Beta held my interest but the lack of weapons/squads/chat/server browser/space combat combined with lackluster vehicle controls made it clear that it'll be a shallow experience that most adults will lose interest after a good week. Too bad it isn't a reskinned bf game. It's understandable though as it needed to be watered down for the gigantic audience they're shooting for. It's for children and people who aren't looking for a skill based shooter. Unfortunately, the license will dictate this type of game experience from here on.

I agree that stuff like basic combat and powerups are a step down compared to what we've seen in previous star wars games like Outcast or Knights, but they really did go the extra mile for visuals and sound which will get more people into games and maybe bring a better age for criticism

BLOPS3 comes with 12 multiplayer maps (not including the bonus ones), 3 zombie mode maps, 4 free run maps, and a campaign mode with full 4 player co op
Halo 5 comes with over 20 multiplayer maps, a full campaign with co - op, and a free map editor later this year
Star Wars EA Battlefront only comes with 12 multiplayer maps and a few co-op challanges, no campaign mode, no custom games. It has less modes than both Halo and COD, there's only one mode per map in Battlefront

I played the beta. If anything it was a big disappointment and when I thought of my younger days playing Battlefront 1 and 2 with friends, and then seeing this modern product, I was not thrilled about it at all.
Sure more casual gamers or younger kids will like it, but as a more direhard fan of the Battlefront series, this game doesn't do it for me.
If it still has any players in say 3-6 months, maybe gets a discount, maybe just for when I'm bored. I doubt it though.

The simple fact of the matter is that video game development costs have increased greatly since the 90's whilst the price of games has stayed steady at $60. Thus developers have focused on making DLC. No, DLC is not content cut from the game but extra content made to benefit players and the dev. Now you have the choice on whether or not to buy the dlc. The only other option is that game prices increase to $100. So it's really a win-win situation.
I think EA is giving a lot of content for the $60 base price of Star Wars: Battlefront. The DLC is just icing on the cake that you have the choice to buy or not. I think the DLC is a great value personally. There's 16 new maps, 4 new hero characters, 4 new game modes, and 25 new weapons and gear. $50 is a fair price for so much content that we worked hard to make and it's development wasn't free either.

Used EA access to get the 10 trialthen when a bug happened called microsoft after EA couldnt fix it which it auto fixed shortly after and got refunded the 6 dollars and still got the 10% discount on the game so saved 7 follarsand I gotta say I had a fucking blast because star wars is everything fantasywise to me. I dont know how much you would enjoy the game if you weren't a fan of Star wars but I will say the map design is fantastic, sounds are beautiful, and graphics are best I've seenif you dont include hero faces. There's a ton of game modes and more maps than what most multiplayer games come with.
I had a lot of fun and really like the game.
