1. Fallout 4 will win due to it being most normie-friendly / accessible + multiplat thus garnering the largest audience.

On its own, it sold spectacularly, and is the only game this year that actually stayed relevant after 2 months. It's the only game on that list without any seriously significant flaws, and while I also put Mario Maker I that camp I can't consider a game that's essentially a mod for SMB 1/3/World/New as GOTY
Bloodborne is the only game on that list that's actually deserving of a reward. I don't even like from software games that much but that is the only one where it was completely for the sake of making a good game and not just swinging on the hype of the fans. I wanted MGSV to be the goty but I respectively can't say that would be correct with the ending being the way it is. That is just pure evil and greed. the same could be said for fallout, and mario maker as well. The Witcher 3 is just somewhat of a dull game and if your game doesn't complete the one task a game is meant to do then it isn't worthy of being considered the best game of the year. I just find something endearing about bloodborne for so many reasons.

I just think that TW3 has the best chance of winning purely because of PR. I personally think that TW3 is extremely flawed in a lot of ways but that won't stop them. They will give it GOTY because that makes them look like they support integrity and the consumer. We already established that those lists are nothing but shallow marketing bullshit or it wouldn't have mediocre triple A titles on it. Fallout 4 for example is only on that list because it's a Bethesda game. It could have been the biggest steaming pile of shit in the history of gaming and it would still make it on the list. In fact I'm sure that I could have compiled the contenders for GOTY in January. I knew MGSV would be on there. I knew TW3 would be on there. If I had known in January that Fallout 4 was to be released by the end of the year it would have been on my list as well. Bloodnborne also makes sense because it's one of those "now acceptable mainstream but hardcore" games. The only odd-one-out is Super Mario Maker, I would have expected Batman Arkham Knight on there but I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't want to do it because the game has been shred to pieces because it literally didn't work on one platform.

I didn't finish The Witcher 3, but the game was fantastic in many many aspects and deserves the praise, even if I personally did not love it.
Bloodborne I finished like 4 times and loved it to death, it had the best combat on the list by miles, but it was linear and shot, and chalice dungeons were bullshit.
MGSV I liked quite a bit, and finished, but the second chapter felt so half baked and rushed that I won't think it deserves GOTY.
Fallout 4 is the biggest time sink ever. I don't think it deserves GOTY due to poor graphics and bugs and whatnot, but it is easily worth the most play time on that list.

MGSV was great but disappointing, Fallout 4 is fucking awful, Mario Maker is more of a design tool and really shouldn't be up there and I haven't played The Witcher 3.
