They really turned to shit but there still is the occasional decent OST in an ocean of turds like the Mass Effect series soundtrack.

That said nip composers completely destroy the west in OST department, there is no contest. Actually nip devs destroy the west in absolutely every department except maybe when it comes to the FPS genre.
