Yeah, its true. When I first saw this game in pre-release form I was most drawn to X's new design. Not even the fact that it was a RPG.
The game itself is fine enough, a bit underrated by JRPG friends, for some reason imo. Perhaps because it isn't very long and there isn't much exploration if any at all.

Hey, remember when the Varia Suit always looked semi-plausible, like it were an actual suit if powered armor with some thought put into the design, so that every piece of it looked like it almost served an actual use, kinda like the whole thing could be an actual bit of futuristic space armor (I'm asking you to suspend your belief, but that is necessary for video games)? Remember how it was a wondrous design, looking like the perfect mixture of Chozo aesthetic design and pure function?
Well here, have this cheap piece of crap that looks almost like a shitty plastic toy made out of tin foil instead. Damn thing looks fucking awful.

I feel like the Metroid Prime 2 version of the Varia Suit is probably the best one. I just posted the MP3 version, which is almost the same.
Shit, even the Zero Suit as it is in Smash 4 and Zero Mission have started to grow on me by this point. The Other M suit is just an abomination. Looks like a fucking Happy Meal toy.

I'm not fond of the flat front of the helmet myself, which I think the Other M design actually improved on, with that and the illuminating visor being the only things that version of the suit had going for it.
Otherwise, never cared for how fucking huge the shoulders are in the Prime series, although it was only REALLY bad in the first Prime game.
Still better than the Other M suit anyway.
