To be fair I think the limited Dragon-types was intentional. Dragon is overpowered, even Fairy didn't put a huge dent in its strength (except you can't spam Outrage anymore).

I think we can ALL agree that they've done a great job with the actual battle mechanics as of generation six, but the main over world adventure is still the same lacklustre shit it was all those years ago. Collect eight badges, do the same repetitive shit we did in the other five generations.
At least Colosseum andXD, for all their faults, moved away from the generic formula and tried something new. Gamefreak need to change things up a bit, if generation seven is the same eight badges shit then I'm done with the series.
