It's hard to explain if you don't know how coding and programming works. Things that are simple logic for us can be horribly complicated for computers. You'd think that it'd be just like "If object A has been touching a surface for 1 consecutive second, then decrease its' speed by 95%, repeat this every .15 seconds" and "If object A's speed is <tiny number> then stop it", but it's way more complex. Even basic-ass physics in a 2d flash game are difficultish to make.

In other he picks rifle with "+50% vs Mirelurks and Bugs" enchant, so I take magical effects weapons aren't very uncommon.
My wild guess is on highier difficulty game will ocasionally spawn "boss" tier enemies with more health and attack than normal, that will have their own unique loot lists, with chance to spawn weapons with rare, overpowered enchantments.
I guess it's still improvement over Skyrim, where you had deadric weapons with vampiric effects sold by every smith once you hit level 50.

There are elite mobs that show up, they have a star next to their name and special abilities. Pretty much like Diablo.
the super mutants in the game seem so out of place.
bethesda can come up with original enemies because fallout in the east coast is so far removed from the originals.
the synth are actually kind of a good addition so much that they did not need to put super mutants there and especially not that Vault 87 FEV bullshit. they just don't belong with any part of the game. there is nothing that connects them with the plot and even the universe of the game.
they had the same problem with the Raiders. They exist only to be killed by the player. Because they needed a designated bad guy to kill without any consequences. They're aren't a faction and don't have any goals.

It's not like it was before, the Power Armor is just another "piece of gear" you wear. It's a lumbering huge vehicle with a bunch of new gameplay concepts, so I think they try to throw a basic tutorial at you with it. When you first put step inside the PA, you suit up, walk forward and take minigun - then you walk off (or jetpack off) the side of a building with a drop that would kill you otherwise.
Either way you discard it after, and you never have to use it again.

hey, the fg42 had the side magazine for a reason, it was very compact and was meant to be able to be used prone without a magazine getting caught on the ground, infact the only complaint most troops had about the stg44 was the large vertical magazine made prone shooting difficult.
Course the Wehrmacht wasn't impressed by the luftwaffes pet project gun when those factories could be churning out more k98's and mp40's.

They didn't, it was the luftwaffe who commissioned the fg42 for paratroopers.
Basically longarms were too bulky to paradrop with, so they used to have to drop in with only pistols and smg's and have their rifles dropped seperately.
One disastrous invasion of a greek island later where the can full of their heavy weapons got misplaced, they wanted their own carbine, the FG42 is compact as fuck, yet comes with a scope and a bipod.

Yes, there's at least one. While leaving Vault 111 the Cryolater is sitting in plain view behind a master level lock. Seemed really good on stream, uses its own type of ammo and quickly freezes people so you can bash them to pieces if it doesn't outright gib them.
