It's a laggy and clunky piece of hot garbage. It was pretty fun years ago but it feels like they don't even care about it anymore. I started to play this game in 2006 a bunch, started off with some friends visiting naruto sims and causing a ruckuss. Even had one of the moderators of the sim started to help us build a secret base under the naruto town. The owner kept getting REALLY MAD but because he was probably 13 and the moderator helping us was a grill he couldn't do much. Started then to do more straight up griefing things floating between groups like the PN,DW and W-hat. It ranged from crashing sims,stealing Emonies to just invading events like poetry slams,E-concerts and dare I say magic shows? One of the coolest things that we did when we had access to our own sim was we built a mock ERP town with houses that we offered people for free to move in.However the doors to the houses could literally be knocked off the hinges, so we would invite people to move in then crash through their front door causing them great distress. Eventually a lot of the hilarity focused on the voice chat which made places like the welcome areas great places to visit. I had an item which could kick people into the air sending them as far as another sim sometimes, It was great fun doing that while they were having a conversation and hearing their voice trail off into the air. Now SL is mostly dead, the griff groups have moved on to be less edgy and just play real games. The ones getting griffed in the welcome areas now hang out there and troll each other on voice arrogantly, and of course the furries and sexual deviants still cling to this game posting their pictures in the /vg/ thread.

Mesh means it uses standard 3d modelling to make the object, rather than basic "prims" that looks cheap and shitty. Some mesh can be resized or editted, some can't, purely depends on the permissions the creator sets. Rigged Mesh can't be moved or resized other than with your Shape on SOME sliders. FitMesh resizes with most sliders and is generally much nicer for that.

Earlier on there was a larger focus on "you can do anything" and most people had at least a casual or amateur interest in building and scripting. There were loads of willing teachers everywhere and if you wanted something you could literally build it yourself in moments. It was lots of fun. However, the nigras and other 4chan groups were never anything of value, they just scavenged other people discarded toys and used them to troll.
Today nobody in sl makes anything on their own anymore and most areas are zoned no-build/no-rez anyways. Probably 80% of sl is furries who are only there to erp, but none of them have any confidence whatsoever and are social rejects irl so they don't know how to interact with other people. Largely they just stand around and stare at each other without saying anything.

Kemono is probably the #1 most overused and noticable body inworld right now, maybe #2 after the 2.0 body. At least the 2.0 looks good though and not retardedly thin proportions, and the default furry feet are horrible and would snap like twigs under any weight. The face is overused and super noticable too no matter how you mod it, like that Peridot faggot earlier in the thread.
Anime looks in general are overused in SL if it's a 2.0/m3 or kemono. The Venus is nice but underused, and the Zero style body/head is awesome but noone uses it because there's better mod/clothing support for the Utilizator shit.
For non-anime you have tons of options, but the best 2 for curves are Maitreya and the Lena Lush.
