Emulate is good because you can download high res gear (since every piece of gear looks different). There's tons of quests all around and just grab everything you see and if you can complete it great not don't go out of your way. If you do that you will be fine to never have to grind.

No, esspecially when you planning of doing tons of sidequests that makes you overpowered. I wouldn't recommend making your self overpowered either considering it takes every bit of strategy in the game and throw it out the window.

Don't do every sidequest like Chaggaconroy did. Most of the sidequests are boring fetch quests and honestly my only problem with the game. Just do the sidequests that give you good items. Doing all of them would get you burnt out of Xenoblade and make you not want to touch the game for months like I did.

This is my entry point into the Xenoblade Chronicles series, although I've seen someone play Xenoblade Chronicles before, so I'm familiar with the story and characters of the previous game. The "Dolls" or Transformers/Gundam in my eyes is what I'm really looking forward to, but I did think XBC looked fun, and it was interesting to watch, and Hiroyuki Sawano has made music I really love in the past, so here's to hoping this game is a fun experience.

Yeah, there are few weapons to equip instead hand swords to punch enemies. Not too flashy tho, at least as far I found only 1 or 2 types of those, maybe there is more.

That's exactly why. Nintendo emulation is always tricky because, especially in recent years, they have a lot of weird gimmicks and unique stuff that just doesn't play nice on other platforms. Even Wii emulation is touch and go because you have to account for the motion controls.
